| limabeerguy (10), Lima, Ohio | | April 23, 2011 [ Updated May 8, 2011 ] This is the only place I would ever consider buying my good brews from around this area. Their selection is amazing! Over 400 different craft and imported brews to choose from.
What I like the most is the option to buy all singles if you so choose on everything. Not to mention that you can enjoy a nice pint while shopping. Their knowledge us uncontested and their prices are as low as they can go (so they say ;) )
If you live in or around Lima, or are driving through, you should take the time and stop by! | Mario61Aler (2), Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2011 Was greeted by the staff with a friendly hello and welcome for stopping in. As the had a wine tasting going on I told them I was just going to look at the beer selection. (hehehe so I lied to them I already spotted some excellent brews) After a pass through the aisle and a return trip towards the staff I asked if I could get a little help on the beer. The young man set his sample down and helped immediately. I then presented him with my list of things I was looking for and what styles the wife and I liked.
He suggested Great Divide Yeti Stout, Trois Pistoles, and the Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence. And I grabbed a 12 oz bottle of Rochefort Trappist 10.
After ringing me out and bagging me I asked him about Lambics, having seen quite a bit on the forums about them and the young man, who was very well informed, told me the Gueze(sp), was quite sour, but The fruited ones were tasty. I said in what way, he said I have a raspberry on tap. Cool ! I was afforded the taste , smell and mouth feel of my 1st Lambic, quite different. reminded me of a high quality wine cooler. When I said that out loud he said try pouring that Chocolate Indulgence with it 50/50. He said it makes a wonderful Blacxk and Tan!
I can’t say enough good things about this expierence. wow! | Rebecca76 (1), Lima, Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 6, 2011 Great customer service, spot-on beer recommendations by staff, excellent atmosphere to sit and have a pint while picking your own 6-pack. Overall, wouldn’t think of buying my beer anywhere else in town! | bduadmintom (1), Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 6, 2011 If you love specialty Beer, this is the place to be.The staff is very courteous and with it’s expertise can help you find what your looking for. Keep up the great work! | Shayzer4 (1), , does not count - explanation | | April 5, 2011 Love the diverse selections of beer and unique brands. The staff is unbeatable when it comes to making you feel welcome and comfortable. | jeannieb (1), Kenton, does not count - explanation | | March 29, 2011 Our first visit was this past weekend. Great selection of beer. I love that you can mix and match any beer. It’s a great way to try new beer without being stuck with beer you don’t like.
We also partook of the beer tasting.
Great deal with a good selection. Can’t wait till there are more taps.
Staff was very knowledgable. This is a great place for a newbie to be introduced to the diverse world of beer. | CBrown519 (1), Ohio does not count - explanation | | March 24, 2011 First beer tasting for me just this week! I must say I was impressed, not only with the featured selection samples (4 "shots" for only $1!), but with the service, knowledge of the host - Matty T - and the friendliness of the other more experienced and knowledgeable tasters! Vino Bellissimo will quickly become a gem here in li’l ol’ Lima, Ohio! If you haven’t been ... you’re missing out! | | jsquire (47), St. Marys, Ohio | | March 6, 2011 The best thing about this place is that you can break up any six pack in the place. They have a wide variety of microbrews and some imports. I haven’t been yet, but they have a beer tasting every Tuesday. They have four rotating taps, and tons of wine. It is tucked away in a tiny storefront in the Kohl’s plaza, but if you are in Lima it is the place to go for beer. | mcnealc31 (1), Elida, Ohio does not count - explanation | | February 24, 2011 By far the best place to get specialty beer in Lima. While some grocery stores may have a few beers Vino doesn’t, Vino’s selection is much more broad with both craft and imports. The beer guy really knows his stuff, and they’ll order beers for you.
There are 4 taps now, which is a nice touch. It’s also the only place in town to buy individual bottles.
The only place in Lima you should go for specialty beer. |
