| orangesol (28), Pennsylvania | | December 4, 2011 The vibe was pretty good. It is a pretty small place so seating is hard to come by. I got a seat at the bar and took stock of my surroundings. Lots of different things all over the walls including a large chalk board with the current beers and the entire menu. The service was very good as well. Those guys really know there stuff and have plenty of beer knowledge to go around. Prices seemed to be a tiny bit high but I am always willing to pay a bit more for better quality, and this place screams quality.
The food seems to be a mix of Gastro Pub and authentic british fare. I saw quite a few things on the menu that I would love to try but I ended up going with the Bulls Head Burger and it was top notch and tasted very good. The beer selection was pretty good. A few regional offerings and the rest from all over the world. Two cask offerings as well, I ended up going with the cask Green King/Morland Brewery · Old Speckled Hen, and it was really good. Overall the Bulls Head is a great place to stop if you are in the area Trust me, you will not be disappointed if you do. | | Drewcifer81 (12), Lancaster, Pennsylvania | | August 14, 2011 Great little bar, and I do mean little. Maybe enough room for 35 people to be comfortable. Love the look, British-pub esque.
Service was decent, bartenders were attentive but seemed to be slightly unsure of their selection at times. I can understand that, though, as they have a vast bottle selection, a good number of taps, plus usually a cask.
Have yet to try their food in the five times I’ve been there, but will be making a point of it next time I’m up.
Food seems a bit pricy from looking at the menu, but the beers are all reasonably priced. expect 4-8 bucks for a beer, unless you’re going for something way high end.
Overall, great place, nice location, but parking can be a pain in the ass. Add on to that shorter hours than a lot of bars and a number of times the street is closed for fairs and celebrations, which detracts from the experience a bit. If you plan on going, check out if Lititz has any events going on at the time, they can really but a crinkle in plans. | | djaquay (10), Ephrata, Pennsylvania | | August 3, 2011 A really great little place, and right around the corner (from me). A solid selection of bottles, great stuff on tap, and terrific service. I’d love to praise the food (it smelled good, anyway), but only stopped by for a couple of beers after work. And to top it off, their website/Twitter/Facebook feeds were nicely up-to-date. Great work, guys! | abc2248 (1), LITITZ, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | March 29, 2011 Best beer bar in the Lancaster, PA area. Great beer selection that rotates constantly. Beer lovers heaven ! | | Parrothead (12), Ephrata, Pennsylvania | | December 29, 2010 Small British-style pub just off the square in Lititz, PA. The bar itself is origi8nally from England. 14 beers on tap, plus 2 cask-conditioned. English-style pub food. Will go back. | | afireinside96 (33), Mountville, Pennsylvania | | June 28, 2009 Stopped by for cask night. Not your typical beer place. Somewhat formal even. They seem to be doing a good job of getting new and different beers every month for the cask event. Recently featured beers include Yards Brawler, Dogfish Head 90min IPA, and Troegs Nugget Nectar. Worth a stop. | | KornDogg (25), Lancaster, Pennsylvania | | May 29, 2009 Cask Events are every last Friday of the month...check out sutters for some of the rare tasting events....good micros hard to find in cask... great atmosphere, great people... all with the same interest... quality brews.... |
