bkisida (5), Arkansas does not count - explanation | | May 17, 2012 It’s a nice place. | PapaMick (6), Maumelle, Arkansas does not count - explanation | | January 13, 2012 Best beer haus in Arkansas. Bar food and a bit better. Attractive servers (Beer Godesses) quick service | | csaso (71), Missouri | | August 24, 2011 Second time I have been to one of these places (other time in Memphis). This was the first time I have eaten a meal here though. Great beer selection - probably 20-30 on tap, with lots more in bottle. All different styles and from all different places around thw world. The food menu is OK I guess, mostly bar kind of foods. Defintiely worth going here if you are looking for a variety of beers. | | ben4321 (117), Hoboken, New Jersey | | June 28, 2011 [ Updated July 7, 2011 ] This place was alright, more of a detination for quantity then quality. I’ll be back here because the selection is much better then most of what else is around, but I wasn’t particularly impressed. Our service was mediocre, just like the rest of the place. Eh...
Had a quick additional note, an earlier review was quoting prices that were really high, I believe this review was rather confused, and was quoting 750 ml bottle prices as draft pint prices (A pretty big mistake if you as me, to quote this previous reviewer). I didn’t love the place, but those comments made it seem like the place was trying to rip off all their patrons, and that’s just not right.
| | fata2683 (125), Tucson, Arizona | | June 18, 2011 Nice place right in the heart of the river market district. Huge tap and bottle selection, you can get Diamond Bear on tap here as well. Easily the best place for a beer in the state. Simple pub food available. | | GlobalVillager (15), , | | February 1, 2011 [ Updated February 3, 2011 ] Beer list is extensive on tap and in the cooler. Ambiance: in an old block of the city with lots of cool stuff sitting around the bar, plates for "accomplished drinker recognition" all over, and the funniest T-shirts on the staff and available for purchase. Unfortunately the staff is not knowledgable about the beer. The food is good bar quality, though not great restaurant quality. | dkingsella (1), Portland, Oregon does not count - explanation | | June 16, 2010 Selection is pretty good although many of the beers are way over priced. I live in Portland, OR, so I understand that the availability of great beer relative to that of Little Rock is much better, however the price on many pints were substantially higher than what I would expect to pay for a 22 oz or sixer in Oregon...ie. Rouge beers for $19 a pint...various belgiums for $16 a pint...even Boulevard out of Kansas City were going for $16 a pint. That said, my bigger issue with this place is the lack of beer knowledge for a place that seems to want to be beer experts. As an example two of us at our table were served German Hefe-Weizen with lemons and one of us was served an American style Hefe without a lemon. When asked for a lemon for his Widmere Hefe he was told by the waitress that the reason they served them this way was because of the difference in styles. I didn’t bother to explain to her that they have it backwards...nothing that a quick google search wouldn’t clear up for them. Also they listed Shipyard Brewery as being from Portland Oregon on their menu when in fact it is in Portland Maine...pretty big mistake if you ask me. Still yet, I’m sure it’s the best thing going in Little Rock where beer is concerned. | Mikeus (4), Arkansas does not count - explanation | | April 2, 2010 Waitresses are ignorant of what kinds of beer they’re serving. Food is standard bar fare (a bit overpriced). Beer selection is good; once in a while will see a really good beer that is rare for the region. Upstairs is incredibly noisy, downstairs is better but can get smoky. Cover charge on some weekends is stupid. Pint Night is a great value. | grikmok (3), Little Rock, Arkansas does not count - explanation | | March 31, 2010 The ambiance is not bad, with decors of plates and little trinkets on the walls and ceiling. The service was so-so...I was put off by the scantily clad waitresses. Kinda made the place feel like a sleazy bar. Selection of beers were also not that great, the smoked salmon was a little off and not fresh. Pretty disappointing. | | BarZigKin (29), San Antonio, Texas | | February 3, 2010 Ah, the Saucer. If you’ve been to one, you’ve been to most. Once you run the gauntlet through the front smoking area you’re home free. Tap list was average at best and some of the local Diamond Bear offerings were out(?). Better than expected service for a Monday night. You know what you’re getting in to before you arrive. Nice people at this one though. |
