Tap 25 was only like a 10 minute drive from Handles; I guess I never realized Pleasanton and Livermore were that close. For me Pleasanton has always been a drive-by city on 580. Anyway, there is a large partially paved lot behind the bar, which makes parking a breeze. Bar itself is not that big, but there are multiple tables as well as the bar area and some outside seating. Bathrooms are out back, which is a bit of a nuisance. I grabbed a spot at the small bar and asked for a flight -- four pours, you choose, price depends on selection. Taplist was heavily NorCal focused, which is cool actually. They had several Temescal, Morgan Territory, and Altamont taps, as well as a smattering of others. I did not check the bottle cooler - should have read Dak’s review first, I guess. I was pretty happy with the service. Beer quality was high, indicative of clean lines. Properly carbonated, good serving temperature. Yep, this would be a great addition to MY neck of the woods.

Little bar located in an equally little square at the north end of downtown Livermore. They have a small cooler with bottles, too.

They do flights of four, which is always appreciated. Pretty nice selection of beers, though was seemingly dominated by Alatmont when I visited, not that I’m really complaining. Still, some good variety of stuff from the Bay Area, Sacramento, and Southern California during the stop.

They are a little high on the prices, particularly for any of the out of the area beers and special releases...like $8 for a pour of Modern Times Black House?

It’s a solid place and I would almost certainly come back whenever I’m stopping in (or possibly even just passing through) Livermore.

Solid bar on a small square in Livermore. Think they’ve slightly expanded since a few o the other reviews, as there were two ’rooms’ inside with ample bar and table seating, free wifi, and then the 4-5 tables outside (which I think may be shared by the other shops on Blacksmith square). Solid selection - mostly NorCal beers, 3-4 selections from local area breweries (Altamont and another one whos name escapes me). They have Sculpin on tap, which I rarely can pass over, but the Altamont beer I tried was great. Wish they had food...but there are quite a few restarants within a block or two, so no biggie.

Visited November 10, 2013.

The place was pretty dead when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon but it’s really a nice setup. The inside is a bit plain but there is this nice courtyard right outside that could make for a fun place to hang out. It’s also right on the main road. As advertised, they have 25 taps flowing. Lots of local taps featured, which is nice. Drakes, Ale Industries, Speakeasy, Calicraft, and 21st Amendment were all present. Surprisingly no Altamont, which is just up the street and made a beer for their second anniversary. Must have been out that day or something. Prices were a bit high but the service was very friendly, and the location is great (for being in Livermore). Would definitely return. Actually my brother and I were talking about biking the 10 miles from his place to downtown Livermore soon to do the pub crawl around town here.

Alright. Livermore! Can’t wait until BART makes it out here. Nice new little space, that has expanded too. The furnishings are not the most comfortable to spend a lot of time enjoying their tap list. Oh yes. The tap list, there’s that, has a geeky selection that rotates through to new stuff often. This is a great place to try something new or something you’ve never heard of. What more could you want. There’s also a nice patio space for further enjoyment. Come to Livermore and try it out. Or not. I’m going back the next time I’m in the Bay Area.

Nice ambiance but quite small. Decent menu of staple beers in correct glassware. Not too much outstanding stuff, but a solid list of everyday beers.

Small light colored place with a short bar and 3 or 4 tables inside. Has a cool patio across from a nice wine bar. 25 taps of good beer.

Awesome new place in downtown Livermore. It’s located in the very nice blacksmith square just across the parking lot from First St. Alehouse and down the street from the Beer Baron (revamped Livermore Saloon). Between these three places we now have quite the pub crawl in Livermore. The location is great right in the center of downtown yet there can be a lot of road noise being just steps from Livermore Ave. when you’re on the patio. The patio is beautiful however. All brick with lots of seating and shade trees. I think there’s a fountain and usually some live acoustic music. It’s a very relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a beer and some conversation. There is also a few wine tasting rooms in blacksmith square so you can double dip if you enjoy vino as well (or use this to draw your significant other!) The bar is really small inside with seating for about 10 at the bar and a couple small tables for about 6-8 more people max. The decor is very simple yet classy. It definitely has a "tasting room" feel to it. The owners and bartenders are very friendly and seem knowledgable and enthusiastic about beer. All 25 taps were nice selections with good diversity of styles, some being local breweries and some nationally distributed. Nothing super rare or earth shattering, but none were beers you can find on tap anywhere else in town. It looks like they will be posting their tap list on the website which is cool. They said they’ll have exclusively American craft with no imports. Also of note, the same people own the Green Leaf BBQ shop next door, and offer small plates of food. I got a smoked tri-tip sandwich and it was small but very good. Overall, this is a very nice new place that I hope does well.
