| Boudicca (205), London, England | | April 9, 2012 A comfortable and relaxed Okells pub in the business district. Thomas Rigby’s has eight hand pumps offering a good selection of Okells and other beers. The main front room (there is a separate room to the side as well) has a long bar and feels like a homely beer hall. At the back there’s another room which is more like a small country house dining room with wood panelling, a beamed ceiling, leaded glass windows, scrubbed wooden tables and a few pictures showing naval scenes. The Lady of Mann, across the courtyard at the back, is another Okells pub but with a much less enticing beer selection.

A rather grand frontage, a mix of Georgian and mock-Tudor, gives way to a more Victorian feeling multi-roomed, wood-panelled interior. There’s an enclosed courtyard at the rear, on the other side of which is the Lady Of Mann, a separate establishment also operated by Okells, although the beers on offer may differ. | | Rune (234), Tromsø, Norway | | May 21, 2009 Characterful pub in an old fashion style with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Gives a clean and tidy impression. Large half circle bar displaying Belgian beers on tap and bottles and eight cask ales. An outlet for ales from Isle of Man, the Okells brewery, supplemented by a few guest ales. Has got a good reputation for its food and beers (visited, 04.05.2009). |
