September 10, 2009 Very beautiful. I had a lot of new ratings, but once you have done Samuel Smiths there is nothing new to return for. |

February 19, 2009 A Sam Smith’s pub is better, IMO, than the other biggies. Plus, this is the lowest amount I’ve paid for a pint since a visit to Newcastle in 1999. Sure, it’s full of douchebags that work in the high rises (er, like me....), but the beer is tasty and inexpensive. |

November 29, 2008 Fascinating Sam Smiths pub in Central London. Wonderful downstairs area. Beer is almost free by London standards. Great atmosphere, it’s very easy to spend all day here. |

October 18, 2008 Impressive Samuel Smiths pub on High Holborn. Really beautiful place with several meters up to the ceiling, a long bar and several small booths along the walls. One cask ale, Old Brewery Bitter, and a decent selection of Sam Smiths bottled beers (cold as ice). Efficient staff, but I’m not sure they had much of a clue to what they were serving. Nice place though, worht a visit for a couple of ratings. |

September 30, 2008 Beautiful Samuel Smith pub, previously known as Henneky’s. Vast 1920s ’Tudor’ interior takes visitors by surprise. It’s a bit like drinking in the nave of a parish church. Needs to be crowded to have a real atmosphere, but I quite like it on saturday afternoons when it’s quiet. Service is patchy but generally OK - the beer likewise. A better Samuel Smith pint is to be found up the hill at the Princess Louise. |

July 14, 2008 Lovely environment for a few SS ticks. Beers I had (the better ones, cask) mostly served well. Staff alas unable to cope with the idea of wanting a bottled beer that wasn’t chilled to 3C. |

August 12, 2007 Stunning building. Sam Smiths beers, including Old Brewery Bitter on cask. That’s probably enough to attract visitors to London (but bear in mind that the Princess Louise, an equally stunning Sam Smiths pub, is just down the road). As well as the Sam Smiths bottles, which probably won’t be new to visitors, there’s an opportunity for completists to try some of the pretty dire Sam Smiths keg beers (and cider), if that’s your thing. |

August 2, 2007 An awesome building which is the best outlet for Samuel Smith I presume. Very cheap prices are to be expected, but the beer range won’t keep you excited enough to hang around for more than an hour. Still, not too far from the Wenlock and holding pretty much the complete Sam Smith beer range if you’re looking for those. |

May 12, 2007 Only one real ale but has wide range of Sam Smith’s bottles. Main selling point is the pub itself with its unspoilt interior and brewery paraphernalia. Service wasn’t bad for central London. Would visit again. |

April 16, 2007 Not a big selection of real ale. However, it seems to have been a "brewpub" once upon a time, and all the old casks and ceiling ironmongery are still there. Little cubbies to pair up in. Good place to stop. |
