| imdownthepub (164), Banbury, England | | February 25, 2012 It looks a little dubious from the outside, but opens up inside to quite a comfortable area. Handily placed for Tower Bridge, it does seem to avoid the worst of the tourist hordes from what we could see. Intersting range of beer, if only on the keg side, the cask beers were a touch disappointing. A good place to visit and we would return. | | Svesse (139), Hässelby, Sweden | | January 18, 2012 Spacious bar and restaurant at the south end of Tower Bridge. One large room by the bar and smaller rooms behind, with a feel just between English pub and American diner. Three (or two?) real ales and a good selection of draught beer from a varied selection of countries and styles. Good selection of bottled beers, not a huge list and hardly any rare stuff, but some interesting and good quality choices available. Overall a well mixed and thought through beer selection. Didn’t try the food, but it looked good and plentiful. Friendly and swift services. Managed to combine this with Dean Swift, Kernel Brewery and then off to the area south of London Bridge (a good days pub crawling). Definitely worth a visit. | | madmitch76 (69), , England | | November 11, 2011 This place has really grown on me. Spacious, light and airy. Good service and a good selection of bottles and pretty decent tap selection. A great place to spend an evening away from the maddening crowds on the city side of the bridge. | | Christian (159), Odense, Denmark | | October 14, 2011 Beautiful pub with a modern look and more light than most places. Fine beer selection, though one was completely off when we visited | | Aniela (37), Skövde, Sweden | | September 27, 2011 Nice pub near London Bridge. Good beer selection and a nice meny. | | YULbier (209), Brno, Czech Republic | | September 26, 2011 Tower Bridge location. Only 4 casks of english ale, but very good ones. Food and interior are awesome. Feels more like a restaurant with an attention on good beer. Thumbs up for the Ghostbusters wallpaper in the staircase leading to the bathrooms. | | EdKing (69), London, England | | September 26, 2011 Visited the Tower Bridge Branch on a Saturday. Open airy bar space and diner style restaurant on the other side. When I came in their were only a couple of punters but then about 25 German tourists came in and the place was suddenly buzzing. Range of beers is very good. Stuff on tap was mainly Belgian lagers, Palm etc. They had about 3 or 4 cask pumps and the one I tried was fresh as a daisy. Bottle range is very good with stuff from around the world. All in all a very nice place to stop by and would go back. It’s not quite as up there as Euston Tap, Cask, Craft Beer Co etc, but not far behind. Also they do third of pints which is great for tasting. More bars should do this! | | Scopey (150), Croydon, England | | September 21, 2011 The Draft House is a large modern-looking bar located just past Tower Bridge. Spacious and full of long tables, much bigger than its sister pub in Clapham. Big selection of keg, cask and bottle on offer. Includes the likes of Harviestoun, Dark Star, Sierra Nevada etc. Maybe a bit too many light fizzy options, but interesting brews also. Had Big Foot on keg, which was brilliant and fresh. Kernel bottles in the fridge always make me happy. Staff were friendly and I like how they serve thirds. Hit this on the way to/from Dean Swift. | | tkrjukoff (133), , Sweden | | September 18, 2011 Quite a large pub, visited late Saturday evening almost empty. Staff quite nice, good selection of casks and bottles. Place feels more like a restaurant than a pub. Had just a coule of glasses, might visit again next time in London. | | Boudicca (205), London, England | | September 18, 2011 The Draft House at Tower Bridge is one of three in London, the others being in Clapham and Battersea.
It’s light and airy with windows on three sides and large wooden bench tables – ideal as a meeting place for the start of the third and final day of the 2011 RBESG. We arrived soon after it opened on the Sunday after a very pleasant walk along the South Bank from London Bridge. The walls are painted in muted colours and decorated with a range of interesting music posters. One I noticed was for a concert John Cale and his band had given at Vooruit in Gent, which we’d visited only a few weeks before.
There are eighteen or more taps (some of which are interesting, others less so) and they usually have four cask ales as well as a good range of bottles. Oh, and they serve beer in third pints as well as full pints and halves – an excellent innovation!
There’s a raised area with bright green banquettes in a separate room for dining and a tasting room downstairs. The staff were very friendly – a barmaid who wasn’t very knowledgeable about the beers but she did offer us free drinks when she poured Pfungstadter by mistake and a welcoming barman who made a few cheeky comments but was well-meaning enough to get away with it.
