Visited only the unusual brewery shop, which offers far more wine (!) than beer - but nevertheless the Vintage Ales from 05 to 08 plus a limited range of Fullers’ and Gale’s Ales (Old Prize Ale!) were available; some glassware, too. Worth a detour, but not a must...........

Brewery tap - Even the simplest beers served well. Pleasant traditional neat pub decor. Brewery tour was enjoyable too.

The pub has great atmosphere and great beer - cask London porter was available. Ths shop still has vintage ale back to 1999.

This rates the double pub - not the brewery. Got in early. Gales Festival Mild was on. Got a chance to chat. Later met some of the same folks downstream at Fullers’ The Dove. Great time.

Visited in August 2000: Didn’t catch the brewery tour, but stopped by at the adjacent pub/taproom and paid homage to the history and ambiance of the location.

Interesting tour, even if the brewing equipment is no longer traditional, unlike many other brewers. Understandably the traditional copper and square fermenting vessels have been replaced with all stainless steel, but there are a few scaled down historic pices of equipment that are no longer in use to look at..The guide was knowledgeable, and answered many questions. He even knew some of the pubs I frequent out here in South Buckinghamshire (including the one I work in). Tasting afterwards is limited to 4 cask conditioned ales, the seasonal, London Pride, Chiswick and ESB (not a bad thing really), half pints of each were provided. The small visitors centre has many interesting old items, but we were not allowed the time to look at them properly, unfortunately. Brewery shop is disappointing, most of it is taken up by the sales of wines and even canned lagers, although the full range of bottles is there (minus the export only IPA), including all the vintages from 99-03. There is a small selection of merchandise, which is pretty expensive. One word of warning, the brewing rooms were very hot even for the morning tour in Spring that I went on, take note of that for summer visits

Nice tour. The old brick brewery building is by itself worth a visit. The old copper kettle is still there and built in the bricks. The tour guide who worked there and is now retired had a bunch of nice and interesting stories to tell and as there were only people who know how beer is brewed / he changed his normal routine and gave as some other perspective to the brewery. The Tasting was ok, besides they only had four of their brews an tap, most of the others bottled and the London Porter was truly missing at all. Great experience to walk through the beer ankle deep as a pump broke while we were there.
