| Scopey (150), Croydon, England | | March 6, 2011 Nice large real ale bar in crystal palace. I first visited during their spring real ale festival (40 beers on at the time), which was great fun. They regularly have live music and the bar itself is spacious and has a decent patio area. The regular beer line is 10 casks of local micro-brewed ales and a couple of gravity-dispensed options. I haven’t eaten there, but the food and bar snacks look decent and good value. Well above average ale pub in this part of town. | | wellinformed (10), , England | | September 22, 2010 [ Updated March 10, 2012 ] Great selection of micro’s eight handpumps and two on gravity, all in great nick.
Try the pork pies, huge !!!
I keep going back and this place seems to get better and better and busier and busier.
Just goes to show that a good selection of ales well kept and served with a smile works
Update; 09/03/12
Went to the beer festival last week, 60+ ales and ciders and the place was rammed. It just keeps getting better, i also noticed that they now have twelve handpumps and two on gravity. | | planky84 (16), , England | | September 6, 2010 This pub has recently undergone an image and name change from it’s previous incarnation where it was a prerequisite to go in ’tooled up’ and generally looking for trouble. The new team have turned this place around quite admirably. The barman on at the time (4th Sept) was one of the most laid back i’ve come across in all my years of drinking, certainly made us feel welcome. There’s a large patio area outside to while away what’s left of our summer.
So in summary, a very nice establishment, beer kept in very good nick and a friendly welcome to boot. Couldn’t ask for more really, long may it continue. |
