| Leighton (226), London, England | | March 30, 2012 A decent free house in central London. Seven casks on offer, a few interesting ones, including the aforementioned Old Peculier. Prices are a bit high for the beers on offer, but it’s all about the location. Bartenders weren’t that impressive, but whatever. It is a nice, old-fashioned feeling pub with lots of big windows looking out on to the street and to the museum across the street. Worth checking out if you’re in the area. | | Svesse (139), Hässelby, Sweden | | January 23, 2012 Nice pub just across the street from British Museum. A traditional looking long bar with lots of mahogany and etched glass. Efficient service. Five or six real ales with the usual suspects (Taylor’s Landlord, Fullers, Greene King/Morland) and the odd guest beer. Cask conditioned Old Peculier is the most interesting feature. Worth a visit if you’re passing by. | | tkrjukoff (133), , Sweden | | September 18, 2011 Very nice pub indeed. Excellent location after a visit to the Brittish Museum. Good selection of casks and bottles, enjoyed the Old Peculiar on Cask. Staff very helpful and friendly, good service. Food was excellent as well. Will definately recommend and return. | | EdKing (69), London, England | | March 6, 2011 [ Updated March 26, 2011 ] Really snug old fashioned pub opposite The British Museum that has a really nostalgic and historical feel to it. Takes you back in time a bit. Nice range of real ales on tap as well including theakston’s Old Peculier which is a must try if you haven’t had it. |
