| Grima (14), Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany | | August 12, 2011 Small store with a great selection of wines,. but just one small rack of beers. Most of them are belgians, the others are from the UK (most Meantime and Camden Town).
Very helpful guy! | | jbrus (133), Delft, Netherlands | | December 31, 2010 Probably a friendly guy running a great store... if you live in the neighbourhood and love wines. Because the selection of beers is minimal (about 60 bottles) and 90% Belgian and only a few English (Meantime) beers so for foreigners it’s certainly a waste of time to drive here. | | tdtm82 (61), , England | | April 23, 2010 [ Updated May 8, 2010 ] I walked in and initially checked out their rather fine Italian wine selection. I walked to the end of the room and on the left hand side there are some Belgian beers.
Most trappists are covered. Other prominent Belgian beers are available and 1882 Girardin Black label too.
The Orval was there as was Westmalle so all is good. A good place to stock up on trappists. Spent £30 very easily. . | | planky84 (16), , England | | April 19, 2009 [ Updated June 27, 2011 ] Predominantly a high class wine store with an excellent section devoted to (Mainly) Belgian and various world beers. The owner has a Belgian contact who sifts out the more interesting beers to sell in the shop. I have found many gems here, beers you wouldn’t even find at the Utobeer market stall! Highly Recommended.
UPDATE
Been back here a few times since the above review and the selection and my over excited original critique doesn’t apply so much now! No gems here these days however plenty of old friends are still to be found (St Bernardus, Orval, Chimay, La caracole, Girardin etc). Very reasonable prices too. Still a good place to go but not so good for fresh rates for seasoned campaigners. |
