| Leighton (226), London, England | | July 18, 2011 This part of town is pretty bleak for both pubs and bottle shops. Whole Foods is a notable exception, though, and has a very decent selection of beers. You won’t find anything particularly special or rare, but you could likely find something you haven’t had before. Prices are fair. Certainly worth checking out if you’re in this area. | | EdKing (69), London, England | | February 25, 2011 Hunting out good bottled beer in London is tricky but Whole Foods Market in Kensington is second on my most visited beer bottle shop after Kris Wines. Situated in the basement floor of the organic supermarket, they feature a range of international beers focusing on UK and America and then a handful of Belgian, German and International ales. Highlights are six packs of Anchor steam, porter, Brooklyn lager, Blue Moon, Goose Island, Samuel Adams and Flying Dog. UK bottles include Samuel Smiths, Wells & Youngs, Brewdog, St. Peters, Sharps. Others include Delirium Tremens, Schlenkerla, Zatec, and Dogfish Head. |
