Stopped in briefly in early August while staying a few days in Seal Beach, which doesnít seem to have many good beer shops. Pretty good selection, especially of California stuff (Bruery, Almanac, Stone, etc.). Some good deals on a few Stone things. The staffer was dispensing wine samples and didnít know much about the beer. Some prices were not not clear and it was a bit of trouble to find out. Definitely worth a stop if staying in the area.

Stopped in here earlier this morning for some supplies for the apartment while we are in town. Didnít even think about the beer until I saw it and I was pleasantly surprised with the selection. They had a nice selection of beers from all over Cali and even the country / world. I was surprised to find a Hangar 24 Barrel Roll No. 3 on the shelf so I picked up the last one. Really wanted to try the cans from Pizza Port but we will be going there in a week or so so I passed on them. Quality seemed pretty high. I didnít see any out of date bottles and they had a few glasses on offer as well. Service was decent. I was asked if I needed help by a random worker but that was it, not a huge deal tho as I didnít need any help. Standard grocery store bottle shop atmosphere, again no big deal. Prices were on par with all of the other grocery store beer stops I have come across. Overall a really nice find, glad I stopped in here for supplies rather than the other store a block away.

Decent sized Whole Paycheck, but the beer selection was a bit tough to find. However, the offerings here are quite good and nicely varied. Lots of local SoCal stuff and particularly San Diego beers. Nice selection of imports as well from Belgium, Germany, and Denmark...some Japanese stuff, too. Not too many limited releases, but they had some of the newest stuff from Firestone Walker as well as Enjoy By and some of the fairly new Modern Times cans. Pricing is in line with other locations. Worth a stop.

Not a bad Whole Foods at all, although it feels about 15 years old. Alcohol section is confined to a small corner, and I originally thought I had wasted my time. Turns out they nearly have as much beer as wine, and a pretty good selection at that with a lot of new releases. A 6 pack of Pivo, a few ticks including the new Zymaster from Anchor, 6 Orval for Walt, and an Anchorage product. Checkout guy was somewhat craft beer aware (was excited to try the new release of Stone Best By, but was not much more knowledgeable beyond that...still better than most) Prices are typical for Whole Foods.

I popped into this Whole Foods when in Long Beach recently and was quite surprised at how good their beer selection was. A lot of craft brews from California, of course, but also some other great USA brews and some decent Belgians. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area - and of course being a Whole Foods there is a great food selection as well.

possible the best beer selection in Long Beach. Great service and there are always new, quality beers hitting the shelf here. Talk to Josh for the low-down or if you need a Pliny or another special beer
