Mostly a wine shop, but a great variety of beers that aren’t easy to find elsewhere. Friendly staff but not pushy at all. Lots of Belgians and Japanese. Singles available - great place to try something you weren’t willing to risk a sixer on.

Very good store. Frequented here when I was staying in LA for a week. Most of the stuff is fridged with lots of seasonals and top brewery offering. Store was clean and well organized. Ask about special releases, new arrivals as they may not be put on the shelves on purpose. Really liked this place. Has way over 100 bottles.

High end store that has a great selection of beers that I have not been able to find anywhere else in Los Angeles. Selection includes several lambics, some rarer non lambic Belgians, and a lot of craft beers from the U.S. Prices seem reasonable for what you get. As an example of the beers they have, I picked up an 1809 Berliner Weisse, a Struise Pannepot Reserva 2008, a 3 Fonteinen Oude Kriek, an Alpine Nelson, and an Anchorage Witout Wit among a few others. My friend and I also had a long conversation with the girl who is the beer buyer. She was very friendly and had an impressive knowledge of beer. The place also has a large selection of wine, spirits, cheese, and charcuterie.

high end wine store in LA with a few coolers of craft beer / imports. all the beer is in the coolers. they had a nice selection of Alpine, AleSmith, Lost Abbey, etc. not too many hard to find bottles. I walked out with an Alpine Nelson and an AleSmith Summer YuleSmith... both fresh. They also sell wine shippers - which was a good find to send bottles back east. parking can be tight.

When I was here December 09, this place was good, but not great. I felt CA could do better. Now it has. Their beer guy was super friendly-chat with him to hear about the "in-back" specials. It’s still a pretty small selection, just one wall of coolers, but they don’t mess around. They go straight for the good stuff. Picked up Black Tie, Fantome Black White, Rauch Beer Geek, Alesmith Decadence, some RR, etc. Prices are fine, pretty standard.

Internet order. I ordered multiple beers I was not able to find anywhere else.Prices were decent and it was shipped very quickly. I also really like the way the website is setup. It makes it very easy to find what I want. ****UPDATED 8/4/2009: After 2 more orders from Wally’s, I have to update my rating. I can’t imagine I would find better service from another online liquor store. All 3 times I have ordered my orders have been boxed (very nicely) and shipped the SAME day. Some other retailers could take a hint from Wally’s. Great service, quick email responses, and the best shipping rates I have found. Not to mention a great selection.

Nicely done. Great Italian-inspired atmosphere and huge wine selection. The beer is mostly foreign I noticed, which is fairly unusual. The usual AleSmith spectrum rounds out a pretty nice collection for LA. Carl is the beer buyer and makes it his business to get what’s new or unusual - he is entirely demand driven, so if you ask for it on promise of purchase, he will buy it. Be sure and ask for what you are looking for in store, too, because not everything is on the shelf.

Updated: Pretty solid collection of Wine, and a very nice selection on top shelf liquors (including many sorts rum, absinthe, and whiskey). Beer collection is always good and everything is refrigerated. They do stock a lot of special releases in the back. Pretty good selections of Sake too. Minimal cider and mead selection. Current beer buyer is Stephanie; ask for her. Prices are good albeit a bit high.

Nice shop about a mile south of Westwood Village. A smaller store specializing in wine and just the good stuff. In the back, 4 reach in doors dedicated to beer. No space wasted on macrobrews with a nice selection of craft and UK & Belgians. Nothing rare or unusual for tthough - just the usual suspects but one of the better selections in the area. Nice selection of Sake. The store just sticks to the good stuff - spirits selection is dedicated to premium stuff with an emphasis on whiskies and tequilas. Other specialty spirits as well - don’t look for Smirnoff or Bacardi at this place. Small but very good selection of cheeses, etc as well.
