Internet order. I ordered multiple beers I was not able to find anywhere else.Prices were decent and it was shipped very quickly. I also really like the way the website is setup. It makes it very easy to find what I want. ****UPDATED 8/4/2009: After 2 more orders from Wally’s, I have to update my rating. I can’t imagine I would find better service from another online liquor store. All 3 times I have ordered my orders have been boxed (very nicely) and shipped the SAME day. Some other retailers could take a hint from Wally’s. Great service, quick email responses, and the best shipping rates I have found. Not to mention a great selection.

Nicely done. Great Italian-inspired atmosphere and huge wine selection. The beer is mostly foreign I noticed, which is fairly unusual. The usual AleSmith spectrum rounds out a pretty nice collection for LA. Carl is the beer buyer and makes it his business to get what’s new or unusual - he is entirely demand driven, so if you ask for it on promise of purchase, he will buy it. Be sure and ask for what you are looking for in store, too, because not everything is on the shelf.

Pretty solid collection of Wine, and a very nice slection on top shelf liquors (including many sorts of Pastis’s and Absentes). Beer collection is pretty good, I picked up a bottle of Avery 14, 2007 Stone Old Guardian, and 2007 Double Bastard (yes, this is the only place I know that you can find it in the middle of the Summer). Pretty good selections of Sake too. No ciders or perrys, they only have 1 mead (chaucers). Update, Carl is their beer buyer and a great hombre, they get many special releases that they keep in the back...show an interest and you might get lucky.

Nice shop about a mile south of Westwood Village. A smaller store specializing in wine and just the good stuff. In the back, 4 reach in doors dedicated to beer. No space wasted on macrobrews with a nice selection of craft and UK & Belgians. Nothing rare or unusual for tthough - just the usual suspects but one of the better selections in the area. Nice selection of Sake. The store just sticks to the good stuff - spirits selection is dedicated to premium stuff with an emphasis on whiskies and tequilas. Other specialty spirits as well - don’t look for Smirnoff or Bacardi at this place. Small but very good selection of cheeses, etc as well.
