| weihenweizen (63), Charleston Area, West Virginia | | August 16, 2011 Pretty good place. Brewpub with half a dozen to a dozen brews on draft. Pretty good beer, but nothing spectacular. | kingofalldans (9), Indiana does not count - explanation | | May 21, 2011 I expected better from BBC. manager on duty was awesome. The beers I had were forced in. Not a fan of BBC beer. | Shrews629 (5), Kentucky does not count - explanation | | December 8, 2010 I must say that I really enjoy this place. I have been to this particular pub 4 times and everytime I thoroughly enjoy myself. Nice open atmosphere bar with all the proper beer selections from BBC. Several big screen TVs to enjoy the nights baseball, football or basketball games. The food is well above average in my opinion also with more than adequate portions at decent prices. The bartenders and waitresses are very kind and quick with service. You can choose to sit inside or hang out outside. You can even pick up BBC merchandise in the pub. This is one place that I will continue to visit on my infrequent trips to Louisville. | | Bourbon (11), Louisville, Kentucky | | December 6, 2010 My ONLY complaint is the beer selection outside of their own brand. Not bad, by any stretch, just limited. | | cranked (19), Kentucky | | July 23, 2010 When I used to work downtown I would go there for lunch constantly. BBC is a local staple in beer and also this location does not brew it’s own. I believe their beer comes from the St. Mathews location.
But, with all of that said, the patio outside is great for drinking and people watching.
The food is decent at good prices, though it’s glorified pub food.
The service is near impeccable. Even sitting at the bar I’ve never had to wait more than 2 minutes for anything.
The only downside is that the draft selection, being a BBC brewpub, is limited to BBC. And sometimes their beer comes across watery to me. | | Odde (19), Tampa, Florida | | July 3, 2010 open air bar with helpful service and an interesting atmosphere. lots of potential with the central courtyard. the house beer were disappointing, though. | Darugo (2), does not count - explanation | | September 10, 2009 Dropped in just to try a sampling of beers. A sample of 7 beers cost $7.50. All and all not bad. My favorite was the Star Porter. A nice setting in a revitalized town. I will return when I come back to Louisville. | | AndyReynolds (42), Wilder, Kentucky | | May 25, 2009 Went here for dinner while visting friends in Louisville. My wife and I split a pretzel with beer cheese and a BBQ chicken pizza. I also ordered the American Pale Ale and the Bourbon Barrel Aged Scotch Ale. The bar set up is pretty cool with the ability to serve both inside and out. The service was great, the food was excellent, and the beer was good. My only complaints are that our server did not know the beer selection well enough to give an accurate description and that the beer was slightly over priced. | | 502Flavors (47), ARLINGTON, Virginia | | August 3, 2008 Went here for dinner the other night. It is a pretty cool building in a cool part of downtown louisville. I got a jamaican jerk chicken sandwich and a Dark Star Porter. We ate on their huge patio section, which is very nice. The sandwich was okay, but was one of those sandwiches where the filling only takes up 50 percept of the bread space, so you end up with a bunch of leftover bread. I was stunned at how they treated their beer. They filled my glass 80% full and without a head. It would have been perfect if it were 80% full with a nice fluffy head on top that went to the brim, but they seemed to have intentionally poured it without a head. Furthermore, my beer was served freezing cold. I got it before my meal and it was just getting a good temprature to drink as a finished my meal (and it was 95 degrees outside). They seemed to think of themselves more as a restaurant than a brewery. They dont even have that many of their beers on tap, probably about 6 or 7. This place is worth a stop if your are downtown, but not worth going out of your way for. | | BlackDonald (59), Boise, Idaho | | August 3, 2008 This location was pretty easy to find from the highway. I like the patio and the walk up / sit down bar on the outside was a cool touch. The inside though had a horrible shade of banana yellow paint that kind of put me off. Great beers all the way across the board. Bartender was cool as hell and kept bringing me samples, great food and reasonably priced. |
