| cranked (19), Kentucky | | February 5, 2012 The beer here is pretty good though it tends to lean towards those with hoppy palates, of which I am not a member of that club, and a more milk toast sampling. Food is great, service is great, though the bar manager tried to tell me that the Ommegang Abbey Ale was the Ommegang BPA... which made for a great laugh. | | Chudwick (47), Taylor Mill (KY), France | | February 5, 2012 Louisville hoppy beer joint. Even their Trippel’s taste hoppy. Ambiance is pizza joint meets beer bar. Service was knowledgeable but sporadic. Selection favors quality over quantity, but definitely leaning on the hoppy side. Great value - got a Brooklyn Local 1 big boy for real cheap. Might go again to try their bottle selection. | | Ryan82SM (65), Louisville, Kentucky | | September 10, 2011 First off, to whomever added this place- don’t bother in the future. You had the name spelled wrong, as well as the wrong address. Lean how to use a search engine. Ambiance was a mix between sports bar and sit down Italian place, but with modern fixtures and such- it all just seemed very put together for an indie place. Service was very friendly and prompt; the bartender was overly eager to give advice, but I don’t consider that a bad thing; he wasn’t saying anything wrong. Selection includes some good stuff: Bell’s, Southern Tier, Arcadia, Sierra Nevada and North Coast on tap (as well as locals BBC and NABC). The problem here is that four of the eighteen taps were DIPAs; a little more variety would be nice. The food we had included a nice sized calzone, which was quite tasty- my wife had a sandwich that was decent. The beers on tap were about average for price, and the food was maybe a dollar or so high for the quality. A good option if in the area, probably agreeable to most in your group, but nothing to write home about for the seeker of rare and exciting beers. | | AguynamedTodd (75), Illinois | | August 23, 2011 Located very close to the corner of Bardstown Rd and Eastern Pkwy. I also go there on Tuesdays to take advantage of their beer specials. Beer selection is pretty good and is competitive with others in the area. Food is mainly pizza but have other sandwiches and Italian dishes. Manager is very knowledgeable about their beers. | BeerBuzzed (7), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | January 3, 2011 if you like me prefer to drink/hang out with adults, you may have an issue with this spot - this place, when i’ve been there - is family friendly (not a bad thing) but there are a lot of kids, all shapes and sizes and activity levels - the beer selection is not bad but not great - the "ice bar" is a gimmick - not really necessary in my mind. this is a family place with some fine beers - the food is ok but i wouldn’t go there just for that - as a matter of fact i only go there when i’m meeting a friend who loves their pizza. | | tmongoose (41), Louisville, Kentucky | | December 24, 2010 [ Updated March 1, 2012 ] usually hit this place on tuesday for the beer specials. but then every day is special. you cant beat the happy hour prices nor some of the beer selections. service is always great when i go in there and the food is good. still want to try the pizza. you need to check out this place its a hidden jewel in the highlands. |
