September 28, 2010 I was intrigued to try this place, after walking by one day and seeing a bottle of Chimay Blue. Tacos, Pizza, Sushi and Craft Beer? Can it be true? Well, I didn’t find Chimay Blue on the menu (must have been a mirage) but there were several good beer choices, which I will add on the "add beers" button. This place is nice and spacious with modern decor, including some paintings. Service was fine, and made good recommendations, except... my waitress poured my beer terribly, leaving no head. Selection is good for the size; could use a bit more on the Belgian and German side. Five warm and two cold sakes were also available. The food here was quite good; my wife and I had sushi, and my son had pizza. While the sushi doesn’t compete with Oishii or any of the top sushi places in town, it was still very respectable. The tacos we saw going to other tables looked positively mouth watering. My one complaint (besides the beer pour) was that prices were a bit high; I could have gotten much larger, better quality rolls at Oishii for the same price or less. Fourteen dollars for their best roll is steep, when Oishii might charge twelve for the same kind of roll. That being said, the roll selection was a mixture of classic and unique (some with tofu, jalapenos, basil and more). Worth a return visit for the food alone, but the beer options are solid. |
