edgallow (9), nashville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | May 19, 2012 Drove from Nashville to get some different beers. The place is huge, a one stop party store. The beer selection was great, but some of the beer had been on the shelf for to long. Large selection of pick a six, nothing real special. Overall a great store. | | AguynamedTodd (75), Illinois | | August 23, 2011 [ Updated September 8, 2011 ] Similiar to the one on Hurstbourne Ln. but is newer and cleaner. Service has been nonexistant which I don’t understand. Employees could walk past you without asking if you need help. I couldn’t reach some bottles so I actually climbed the shelves to get them. You’d think that get someone’s attention. Nope. The only reason I go there is because the prices are reasonable and I’m looking for something specific. Selection seems a little off during the summer months. Been noticing that throughout the nation. | | BEER4MEPLEASE (10), | | November 15, 2009 THIS PLACE IS BIG FOR SURE BUT NOT ENOUGH STAFF TO HELP EVERYONE OUT. THE SELECTION WHAT GREAT. | | 502Flavors (47), ARLINGTON, Virginia | | April 16, 2008 Pretty much the same as the hurstborne location, but a little less pleasing, though still very acceptable. Great selection, few singles, few bombers. Party store. Its out of my way, but is still worth a drop in, and if it isnt out of your, then it is a must visit. | daalamar (9), new albany, Indiana does not count - explanation | | December 21, 2005 The Springhurst store is ,imho, the best of the three, with the hurstbourne a close second. It isn’t much in the way of ambiance or in the presentation, but the selection is very good. Sales staff haven’t a clue what they are talking about at any of the locations. The deli area at the springhurst and hurstbourne stores are very nice with a good selection of bread, cheeses and chocolate. There are about 5 taps that you can get growlers filled from and the selection is hit or miss. sometimes you’ll find a real gem there. The hurstbourne and fern vally rd locations are self serve as far as the taps, but the springhurst will fill them for you, and offer free tasting. this is definatly a good stop if in Louisville, but mainly for the selection. | | allfreej (73), Louisville, Kentucky | | July 2, 2005 Not much on ambiance, but who goes to a place called Liquor Barn for that? The beer selection is good, with the Hurstbourne and Springhurst stores being significantly better-stocked than the Fern Valley Road location. The prices are quite good, but watch the dusty six-packs--some of the more unusual offerings may have been on the shelf for quite some time. It would be helpful if they’d use RateBeers shelf tags, too, as this would save having to print out a "wish list" very time I head to Louisville. | | TheBeerOrg (34), Crestwood, Kentucky | | May 26, 2005 [ Updated January 31, 2010 ] Just about every liquor you could want and lots of party supplies. They have a walk-in cellar for wines, and a large humidor for cigars. This location and the Hurstbourne store both sell brewing supplies. Prices on homebrew ingredients and equipment is pretty good, and they will order larger items for you. | | smoosh (32), New Albany, Indiana | | December 1, 2004 The "beer stores" in town. Also huge selections of other potables. At the Hurstbourne Lane store I’ve filled my growler with Arrogant Bastard for $5.99!!! Very nice selection of cheeses, salsas and hot sauces, breads and other gourmet items. | | bu11zeye (113), Frisco (Dallas), Texas | | August 29, 2004 The Liquor Barn is the place to visit if you are in the Louisville area. Three large ailse of beer and a descent selection in a refrigerated area. | | MrRomero (109), Nolanville, Texas | | January 4, 2004 [ Updated May 5, 2006 ] The Liquor Barn is a huge warehouse-type store with a huge selection of beer, wine, and liquor. This makes it a must when in Louisville. There are 3 stores locally but I have only been to this one. Visit their website for other locations. It has a great deli with fresh breads made off site along with pasta salads and gourmet cheese. There is also a frozen food section with several gourmet-style frozen foods to choose from. Growlers of what they have on tap are available for takeout. Bring your own growler or gamble on them having one available for purchase. |
