| deyholla (90), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | May 17, 2012 A very nice store in downtown Louisville. A nice ambiance for a store with a bar that has some nice taps. Impressed by the level of selection as well and the staff was helpful. A nice place to stop. | beertroubadour (3), Kentucky does not count - explanation | | April 26, 2012 They’re knowledgable and you can get just about any type of beer being made in the world. Fine beer and the patio makes this place great. | | maxwelldeux (19), Raleigh, North Carolina | | April 24, 2012 Great selection, but it’s nigh unusable - I can find little coherent organization to the place and finding any sort of thing is really difficult. Labels would go a long way. I found the ambiance very hipster and pretentious in a really off-putting way. Terrible service - I was ignored for over 20 minutes until I paid. | | shrubber85 (132), Greenville, Indiana | | January 28, 2012 The best place to go in Louisville for top of the line beers - have a huge selection of Belgian and Scandinavian beers especially but also a solid selection of German, Japanese, and US craft beers. Solid selection of Three Floyds and New Albanian beers as well. Definitely worth a stop - only a few blocks from Against The Grain and Sergio’s. | | Brigadier (127), Bloomington, Indiana | | December 2, 2011 While I have yet to make it to Sergio’s the Louisville Beer Store is an excellent addition to the local beer scene. Walking in you are hit by shelves of imports including a complete range of the entire Mikeller Single Hop series. Prices seemed fair considering the general price point for most items.
In addition there were five taps. Not your run of the mill choices one was a De Molen. Choices were either full pours or samples including a flight of everything. A cooler in the back has pre-chilled options for things you want to open immediately.
Overall this might be a place I visit again. While they don’t have the same breadth as Keg Liquors across the river they seem to be trying to serve a different market. Both should be successful. | rickycore (3), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | November 4, 2011 I love LBS. I could spend hours in the store trying American and import craft beers alike and I in fact have done this many a time. The staff is excited and passionate about beer and it shows. There is unfortunately not a lot of room in the actually store but that’s ok because the experience more than makes up for it. | | AguynamedTodd (75), Illinois | | October 22, 2011 The place has a nice selection of American and import beers. They have a beer tasting bar where you can sample some of the beers on tap. Thought their prices were high but they have to pay the rent somehow. | beccachinn (3), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | October 18, 2011 One of the best places to get good beer in Louisville. Most of the time you have to stand around or go sit out on the patio if you want to stay and drink but I’m ok with that because the beer is good and the service is good. There’s always someone to help give suggestions of what to order or buy. This place gets stuff no one else in the area does. If I’m ever out at a big box store and someone can’t find what they want I tell them to go to LBS. Also, great events on the back patio like music, food, brewing demos and even a fire pit for the chilly months. | HartManSam (7), Indiana does not count - explanation | | May 4, 2011 Dusty bottles all around. Could see FFF’s was very popular there as those bottles were nice n fresh ha! Some of the "other" beers were quite dusty. Old beer? No thank you. Prices were a tad higher then I’m use to for most. Love the idea just wish it was busier so they could rotate stock better, not their fault. Will 100% return their next time through Kentucky. Ah their import beer selection is worth the trip alone.=) | sefus12 (3), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | March 21, 2011 Quaint little bottle shop w/8 tap bar housing loads of great craft and imports. Taps are always rotating and the atmosphere is very inviting. Lori and Tyler have a gem of a beer stop with the Louisville Beer Store. |
