Looks like a nice selection, and the man behind the counter was pleasant---but we were in complete disagreement and I left without buying anything. I had 17 craft beer bottles from GB Russo and International to return. He asked if they were his, and I said that they were from International and Russo and that this was the first time in his store. He proceeded to sort through the bottles and wouldn’t accept a bottle for http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/chameleon-ryediculous-ipa/138069/ I explained that I was a retired marketing executive and would NEVER give a new customer an excuse to go to a competitor for a mere $.10!!! I took my 17 bottles and left for International!

The service and selection are top notch here, but you do pay a bit more. They also have homebrew supplies, a really nice wine selection, and a great keg list.

This is a place that really respects good beer. The selection is incredible and the staff was helpful. Grateful to the gentleman I met at Founders who recommended the place; if you are hitting the Michigan breweries you must stop and check it out.

Pauly’s has a very good selection, I would say second best in grand rapids area, I found a few beers there I have been looking for for a while. Paul and the staff are very helpful and friendly. It’s a smaller place and kind of in the middle of nowhere. Would love to go on their pub crawls and wine tasting tours.

I was here a week or so ago, WOW ! What an awesome place. I met Pauly himself,we talked a little,he showed me the cooler addition they are putting on,holy Sh!# ! Shelf after shelf of goodies to drink here folks, and a bunch of those cute little liquor bottles too. They had beers I had only read about,and wished I could get locally. I did not check out the liquor in detail (too busy drooling over all the beers eh) But it looked like quite a selection too. I will be back !

For it’s location, nothing beats Pauly’s. Being from Ionia, I know just how few options there are for anyone living between Grand Rapids and Lansing, so I can attest that this place is a godsend. The husband (wine) and wife (beer) team that own/operate the store keep the shelves well-stocked and are both very knowledgable. If you’re looking for something that’s not on the shelves, don’t be afraid to ask, they just might have it in the back.

When we moved to Lowell we thought at first all of our beer needs would be thru the big box store in town until we discovered Pauly’s. As soon as you walk in the clerk usually is there to provide a good (not expert) opinion on anything from beer to cigars to alcohol. Though I’ve seen more selection, this store is a great find in a small town like Lowell!

Holy cow was i impressed when walking in to this shop! Not your normal West Michigan beer store more like a Chicago liquar store. One wall of coolers devoted to micro and imported beers and at quick count just over 250 cold singels and they give you 10% off a build your own 6 pack. With the warm beers on the shelves I’d guess at well over 500 diffrent beers to chose from. Not being a home brewer I have know way of knowing how they stand but shelevs of grain and row upon row of little bottles and tubs of grain on the floor.

wasnt as impressed with the selection. mostly easy to fins singles, seemed to be a heavier focus on wine and large bottle expensive beers. prices comparable on singles. service gets points knocked off as i was only one in store and worker only noticed after id been stnading at register counter for five minutes.
