Pretty great place, if perpetually crowded. We went on a Friday night at around 6:00 and waited for about 40 minutes. Squeezing into the bar to grab a drink while we were waiting took a bit of maneuvering, but the staff was friendly and prompt. Good tap selection, if small: my fiancee and I drank Nogne O der Kollaberator, Nogne O Winter, Saison Dupont, and Samichlaus. Food was good, though we stuck with sandwiches to save $. As I said, crowded, but you need to come here at least once.

Nice little restaurant with a Belgian influenced tap list and a comfortable neifhborhood feel. Huge bottle list, good food and not unreasonably priced. Great spot for delicious food and a wide selection of Belgian, European and American craft brews. Good, friendly service.

This is a nice, cozy little place not far from UW campus. Patrons were a healthy mix of college students and older faculty-types, as well as families. Not very big, so it was pretty crowded, only a dozen or so tables and equal number of seats at the bar. No dress code, but you’d feel underdressed in a t-shirt. I only recall healthy beers, most of them Belgian. Not even many local favorites like Capital or New Glarus. The staff was friendly, rather knowledgeable and eager to offer opinions on beer/food pairings. The whole atmosphere was proper but short of pretentious. Food was as exotic as the beers, and they have some great cheese boards. Worth stopping in after work.

A good place, but not amazing. First lets talk beer...they do have a good rotation and you can see what is current with their well updated website beer list. If you have looked, you’ve probably seen a bunch of beers you are satisfied with...maybe 2 that you are happy to drink, and maybe...about once every two months a beer you would go out of your way for. Food is also good, but a little cliche for the upscale bistro vibe. Staff is generally friendly...and I have to admit I like going there for a late brunch and a jolly pumpkin.

I would consider this Madison’s best beer bar without a doubt. A rotating of 14 beers, more then half of which are Belgian. The selection of bottles is enormous- probably close to 100 great beers. And besides all of this- the food, which looked and smelled delicious- the service was awesome. As a person bases his standards on the great customer service- Brasserie V passed with flying colours. A little bit more then I would like to spend on a typical trip to a pub- so every occasion will have to be special. IF you are coming to Madison, you have to check this establishment out. Fantastic!

Headed here with my brother to try some Belgian food and some unique beers. I felt quite underdressed as it seems a lot of ’high-rollers’ frequent this place. Service was all right. Some of the bartenders seemed a bit ditzy and the owner/manager tried to sound smart by talking beer. Food wasn’t too bad, but this was brunch food - I’d be curious to try regular dinner or lunch during the week. I went there to get a nice sour ale but they were all out. The bartender made a mistake on our check (charged us less) so we corrected her and got a few free beers out of it which was cool. May try it again during M-Sat instead of Sunday.

Stopped here on Sunday. Had the Irish Benedict which was good but the eggs were bit a runny. Overall, the service and staff were pleasant. It doesn’t have any real charm like other places I’ve been to, however, the atmosphere is worth the stop. There is a lot of great beer available here with all the proper glassware as well. Had myself a Nostradamus by La Caracole, St. Bernadrus Abt 12 on tap as well as an Orval. It’s somewhat upscale, but as mentioned by OldChuffy, unpretentious. The barkeep, Ashely, seemed to be into the beers they served which was a welcomed addition. Overall, well worth a stop for some premium beers on tap in their proper glassware.

Located not far from downtown Madison and the UW campus. Small and upscale but relaxed and unpretentious. A great place to sit and drink a Belgian ale. The staff was friendly and helpful. My partner and I had a Val Dieu Grand Cru and De Ranke XXX Bitter on tap. Went there on a Saturday night and drank (but didn’t eat) and returned for Sunday brunch and had waffles and blueberry pancakes with our beer. A worthy addition to the beer scene in Madison. I highly recommend it.
