| porlopp (13), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | December 9, 2011 I love the boisterousness of this store. Reminds me of my own! Definitely a little rough around the edges, but you can tell that its a lot of fun! Great selection of breweries, but I could do with some more variety from said purveyors. Check out their upper tier section with an escort. Totally cool liquor/wine area with an awesome aerial view! | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | September 5, 2011 Top notch beer store. Everything they can get their hands on from the state, plus great stuff from other states. They do not concentrate on Stone and the like, just their top picks. This put me in the unique position of picking up almost everything in stock, ex the Shelton brothers stuff. Single bottles of everything. I was here well over an hour fulfilling my customs import limit from cooler after cooler. Only the very high abv are available non-coolerService OK, mostly younger guys, and it was buzy.
| | sunnyridge (28), | | April 4, 2010 This was my all time favorite beer spot in Madison. Huge selection always up to date and carrying hard to finders. Best part is that its located in the middle of the UW-Madison campus so the real great beer is never snatched up too quickly. The crown jewel in my Madison holy trinity. | | CMUBEERMAN (49), Madison, Wisconsin | | August 25, 2009 These days Rileys may have a better selection than both Steve’s...they usually have some Cantillons (Lou Pepe...had 50N too), seasonal JPs, full 3F bomber line up, and most of the seasonal/one off local brews for singles purchases. Staff may not be super friendly or knowledgeable, but I’ve had luck. Prices are steep. | | BeerBelcher (134), Columbus, Ohio | | August 16, 2009 This is one of the best liquor stores I have ever shopped. WI is a great state for liquor stores (far better selection than many other states I’ve shopped), and this is one of the top couple in the state, if not #1. There are a lot of beers in WI that don’t make it out of state, and Riley’s has all those plus many others I’ve not seen elsewhere. A giant selection, big coolers, lots of singles for mixed 6-ers, a knowledgeable staff - this place pretty much has it all. Throw in a downtown location convenient to other places in Madison you’d like to visit and you’ve pretty much got anything you could want in a liquor store. | | TheGuy (26), Illinois | | July 19, 2009 [ Updated July 20, 2009 ] Now if and when you come to town this is the place for all you coming to the gtmw you better get here early or the day before their selection was so much higher quality than steve’s they had a great selection of belguim and german beers along with a much higher end locals, picked up in their singles case y2k from central waters along with brewhouse coffee stout, also 1 each of tyranena dashboards lights, and the devil made me do it along with stone ruination IPa and a scotch ale from ale ayslum they also had Tyranena dirty old man along with some six packs of stone products which one was oak aged and a nice line of three floyds bombers that would all but have been sold out back home 7 in all also picked up a sixer of black wheat that shit is going fast and a must try this is the place in madison they even deliver kegs to the dorms but it is a little pricey i spent 25.00 + here and new glarus sells for $7.99 oh yeah lots of constuction and small parking lot | | phishpond417 (51), Madison, Wisconsin | | August 31, 2008 When I lived in GB and I would head to Madison, I always made a stop at Riley’s. Now that I live in Madison, I make my way over here once a week or so. Awesome selection- staff isn’t the most helpful, but it is definately worth checking out. | | esjaygee (204), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | June 22, 2008 Decent selection of beers for a store called Wines of the world. A large cooler along the back has many chilled six packs from Wisconsin and many other brands are both in and next to the coolers. A decent build your own six pack section with Wisconsin beers and a few foreign beer I hadn’t seen before. Decent selection of foreign beers available single serve warm as well. Prices were a little high, but they did offer a 10% discount if you bought six or more beers. | | pepsiedcan (26), The Student Ghetto, Iowa | | March 22, 2008 Good store, lots of bottles. You can buy singles if that is your thing. Employees answered my questions well and seemed to be some what informed about beer. Prices are on the higher side for some things. I stop here after steves to grab things the other doesn’t have. Good but not great. | | 3fourths (962), Boulder, Colorado | | January 9, 2008 Fantastic store. New Glarus, Central Water, Viking, Capitol, Harbor City, Tyranena, Two Brothers, and much, much more. Singles in one cooler section, 6-packs in another, with large format bottles on shelves. I could have spent a hundred dollars here if I wasn’t limited my beer
purchases to only things I really wanted. Worth visiting. |
