rodisian (7), Connecticut does not count - explanation | | February 15, 2012 Great store all around. Amazing selection for CT, helpful sales folks, and the "mix a six" from ANY beers in the store is fantastic- and the individual bottle prices are extremely reasonable and have very little (if any) markup from buying them as a 4 or 6pk.
I never miss an opportunity to stop by if I’m in the area
| | auerbrau (232), Peace Dale, Rhode Island | | October 8, 2011 This store is a pretty good stop, with a broad selection of Belgian, Polish, and Scandinavian beers. The prices are a.nip high. The biggest problem is that most beers available in six packs are not available as singles. Also, the regional selection was not the best. Nobody tried to help me in twenty minutes of wandering. Still one of the better stores I’ve seen in Connecticut so far. | | Reynolds314 (13), Connecticut | | August 30, 2011 Maybe the best store in my terrible beer state of CT. Selection is great for the state and its antiquated liquor laws. Huge selection of german and eastern european beers was strange. As far as american micros they have what they can get so you cant fault them for that. Ive never asked the staff for any help and theyve never asked me either so take that for what it is. | | Ernesto987 (54), Connecticut | | February 23, 2011 One of the best places in connecticut, good american craft selections, german beers, lots of bombers, but very little belgian selection. Some rare gems show up but you can see the limitation of connecticut distributors. | | beerfest5 (58), Simsbury, Connecticut | | February 3, 2011 Def one of the better spots in CT, more of a selection than most places in terms of quantity, my only gripe is the rotation. Dust on some bottles once...ok, twice...not good...three times, tells me this place doesnt rotate properly. Been in here 3-4 times now, pretty much the same stuff everytime. | TheCorkStops (8), Connecticut does not count - explanation | | January 28, 2011 One of my go-to places in the area. They have every single beer that they can get. No joke, if the distributor has some, so do these guys. Some of the bottles get a little dusty, but they are the biggest, baddest beer store in the area. | | MaBeer1972 (64), Taunton, Massachusetts | | October 14, 2010 Very awesome selection here! Lots of stuff in the coolers, a mix-a-six selection and a huge selection of bombers and 750s. Good prices too. The seemed to have some stuff I can’t get in MA. If you are passing through CT on I-84, you need to stop and check this place out! | | jkwood04 (29), Connecticut | | June 11, 2010 The best selection of beer I’ve seen in the state of Connecticut. Their beer guy knows his stuff. | | elihapa (65), Honolulu, Hawaii | | January 27, 2009 Great place that devotes two entire warehouse-size walls to beer. And they mean business. If you are looking for the classic NE stuff (Harpoon, Magic Hat, Shipyard, etc), go straight to the cooled fridges, where it 6-packs are arranged roughly by geographic area of origin. If you want better stuff (or fine European brews), head straight for the far left store aisles, where all this is arranged quite nicely. You won’t find anything rarer than say, Cantillon or Hooker’s Liberator Doppelbock, but there is one HUGE plus about this store: you can break ANYTHING into singles!! Just pull ’em out of their case and load up your own! Enjoy. | | LilBeerDoctor (185), East Setauket, New York | | July 29, 2008 Pretty awesome beer store. They have a good selection of imports and domestic (and locals) brews. They have tons of beer so you are guaranteed to find something new. They have a small selection of glassware (although nothing special). Mix a 6 deal for ANY 12-oz beer. Pretty good pricing too, especially for Belgians (generally). The staff has always been quite helpful if you’re inquiring about a specific beer. Nothing too unique and they don’t seem to get new stuff (stuff they don’t already have) in that often, but like I said, there are so many bottles you are bound to find something. Check it out! |
