| JStax (43), Devola, Ohio | | August 6, 2010 [ Updated January 31, 2012 ] This place is by far the best beer bar in the are. They have the best bottle and tap selection until you get to Athens and they really seem to care about what they put on tap. Although their bottle menu is not overly impressive, you just have to ask if they have anything interesting that isn’t on the menu, and they are more than happy to fill you in on the unpublished goodies. The food is much more adventurous here than most local places as well. I had squid ink pasta the other day. Nowhere else would even think of having that in these parts. This place is definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area. It’s quickly becoming my favorite local. | | LilKem (23), Marietta, Ohio | | July 5, 2008 For Marietta, this was a find. Bells and other OH beer on tap. Large bottle list that rotates weekly to bi-weekly according to the server. Several Belgians, Bells, Great Lakes, Stone, Sierra Nevada (more than just the pale ale) in bottles, including several impressive bombers. Not sure about the tap list since I didn’t see the taps from my seat in the back. Nice atmosphere, food was excellent, but the staff seemed oblivious to their good beer fortune. and next to the Brewery in town, I think it’s the best place for micros in town. Was mostly impressed at the large selection of Stone, though I am not sure what they were charging per bottle. |
