| fbm115 (13), New Jersey | | January 4, 2012 I went to Maloney’s for the Port/ Lost Abbey stuff they had on draft. There is a very large bar with 50-75 taps with 80% of them having a handle on top of the tap. The tap list blew my mind to see how many different offerings they had. Lots of good beers but nothing you can’t find at a good liquor store. Though They do give the option to sample stuff. The tap lines seemed to be clean. Although I would’ve liked my racer 5 to be fresher. It was kind of muted. I went there at lunch time and there were only 4 other people there. I ordered pomme frites but sent them back because they were logged in grease. So i’ll make adjustments when I get some more food from them. Overall I would definitely return to have some more pints. | | kennydiaz (23), staten island, New York | | August 19, 2011 There tap selection was incredible for central New Jersey. We went in summer and it was a little warm in inside the restaurant A large nice Irish style brew pub.The server was very knowledgeable and they had some rare Belgium beers only available on tap. They had over 50 taps and said they were gonna have over a 100 soon. The food was good but nothing really outstanding. Overall an excellent place for a Burger and great beer. Although I would lean towards the beer. | | someviking (13), old bridge, New Jersey | | September 7, 2010 they’ve added an insane amount of taps to the place over the last year. always amazing beers on tap. fantastic onion rings. | | egajdzis (42), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania | | April 12, 2009 Stopped in last night for my first time. The draft list is underwhelming. Though perhaps it is living in PA which is jading my vision. Nothing on the bottle list that can’t be found at the beer store down the street. Perhaps this is a good place for an Irish meal, they seem to have corned beef added to every dish. We did get the nachos, but, they were potato chips with nacho toppings. Our bottles were brought to the table as so (no glass given). When glasses were requested, they came out frosty (and one was chipped). So, it’s a decent place to get a meal if a sporting event you are trying to watch is on TV. But, I think i’d prefer to just go to the beer store down the block, get a six pack and just chill at my parent’s house. | pistolpete (6), does not count - explanation | | March 7, 2009 [ Updated August 22, 2009 ] i ordered food opening night ( a pulled pork sandwich). Unfortunatly it came without bbq sauce, which i think is a mainstay of the sandwich. Their selection is great 24 on tap, and advertised 250 types of bottled beer. Bartenders had really no knowledge of beer or even where to find it. The first two i ordered they couldn’t even find and seemed annoyed that i was ordering obscure beers. Beer on tap was only lukewarm.... A great place to to try bottled beer if they can find it....
i have been back a few times since my first venture there, and hands down they have a great selection, better than probably any bar in monmouth county that i have run across... there is still a lack of knowledge of the beer they serve, and i wonder how long some of their products are collecting dust... i ordered a founders dirty bastard which was totally flat, i know founders has this problem, but some of their bottles seem a little past their prime... none the less they should be commended for the many many choices they have... i will even bump up the rating from 58 to 64... keep up the good work |
