Visited around 21.30 on a Wednesday evening. Located very centrally, you walk down some stairs into an open courtyard area with a bar and tables/chairs, from here there’s a covered area and another fairly large bar area, both old Matera Sassi cave style. Of the three Matera places listed on Ratebeer, this certainly has the most charm, but the least selection. You can come here and have an ok beer for a reasonable price, but don’t expect anything unusual. When I visited they had Ciney Bruin, Bitburger, Bear Beer, Guiness and Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest beer on tap, as well as about 5 import bottles. Fairly quiet when I visited but with several locals around, indie rock music played at a reasonable volume and friendly enough service with minimal English spoken. Worth popping in for a drink but isn’t a craft beer destination. Choices are slim in southern Italy though.
