Rangi (6), , New Zealand does not count - explanation | | May 14, 2012 Great selection of beers on tap and bottle, owner was really friendly and helpful with selections. Food was not nearly as flash and was a little bit disappointing for the price. Was not much of an atmosphere the night we went but sure that might have just beern that night. | | kbutler1 (65), Minnesota | | March 12, 2012 After travelling in Australia and hitting both Sydney and Adelaide, this find in Melbourne was a decent reprive. Ok selection of bottles and I ended up getting an Orval. Nice location in the square, friendly staff, and pretty good food. I had The Lot burger which came with everything, including an egg! Overall, I thought this place was pretty decent. A bit pricey but it seems everything in AU is pricey. | | hawthorne00 (28), Melbourne, Australia | | March 2, 2012 Pretty good given where it is, but does not supplant the paving as the best thing about Fed Square. The keener beer drinker is not the only type catered for here, but does OK. There were 3 or 4 newish local releases on tap when I went and various other respectable things. Staff seemed interested. The bottle list was broad with some things better value than I’d expected. Fairly pricey food and tap beer, but not over the odds for the CBD. Food was simple but expertly cooked. | vanvenlo (7), Glen Iris, Australia does not count - explanation | | February 8, 2012 The selection of beers at this venue has definitely improved. The food is could be better for the price and is a bit so-so. I have had good service here from staff who know their beer. I have also had appalling service. Beer & Brekky event with BeermenTV (2010) was very good. However on one night we booked in advance downstairs and were moved upstairs (due to a fashion event) to a pricier menu and didn’t cater to a vegetarian friend. On a couple of other occasions we have had staff bordering on rude. Even though this place has quite a good beer selection, I would choose other places before going here. | D_and_A (5), , Australia does not count - explanation | | May 14, 2011 Commercial and safe, but with an extensive list of interesting options, and a few staff who really know their business. Food is always excellent and the location is enviable. | | jonno (92), , Japan | | May 13, 2011 Funny place. The location must cost a packet in rent. This is reflected in the prices, though some prices are quite reasonable too. Very chain coffee shop vibe, no real atmosphere. Decent selection on tap. Probably a place I would only drop in to try a beer I couldn’t get elsewhere. | | justinrhys (10), , Australia | | March 20, 2011 Fantastic beer selection - especially in the last week where it was Murray’s tap takeover. Brilliant place for beer afficianado’s and those willing to stretch their tastebuds with some great craft beer from here and around the world! | Davros (9), Melbourne, Australia does not count - explanation | | December 13, 2010 Gets pretty hectic at night, no chance to talk through the available beers. Pretty pricey too. Not too bad a selection though. Across the road from Flinders St station, good location to start off a night (or end an early one...) | | beerophile12 (10), | | August 19, 2010 Like a number of beer venues, seems to have a changed a bit recently.Focus on murrays beers from nsw is good. Range isnt huge & prices are a bit high but if you are in the city & want a good beer, its a more than decent place. Overalll, much prefer the local on all counts though. | | ndon (52), London, England | | June 10, 2010 nice place, easy to get to. plenty of good beers, bit on the expensive side though |
