86 Perect place to pop into before heading over to a dinner part. great wine, spirit and deli selection backed up by a small but well thought out selection of craft beers. |
56 Nice place. They have a decent range, but nothing really special. However it’s pretty easy to get to, so it has that going for it. Service is basically non-existent. I spent a good 20 minutes looking up beers on my phone, and I figured I’d have somebody watching me since it probably looked like I was doing something dodgy, but nobody batted an eyelid or asked if I needed help. The staff at the counter were friendly though and happy to give me a slight discount because the register spat out the wrong price. The selection of foods and cheeses seems lovely, although I didn’t look that much. Decent place, but not as good as the dedicated stores. |
62 Not a large range by any means, and I’ve only ever been approached by a friendly staff member once, but sometimes there’s some hidden gems lying in here. Prices aren’t anything to rave about but are not exorbitant. |
58 Not quite what it used to be. Seems to have narrowed its range a bit. Very much focusses on belgian & english ales. Feel of the store is great, though service is pretty sparse. Deli also has some good stuff. Pricing seems to be more than reasonable. Worth it if you are in the area but certainly wouldn’t go out of my way to shop here. |
58 A decent range of beers available with the main focus on Belgians and other Euro beers. A great selection though and a fair few I hadn’t seen elsewhere. There’s also a deli serving meat, cheese etc that all looked good and could be matched nicely with the beers. Worth a look if you’re in the area. |
38 ...well, I went in here last weekend, and it was pretty nice. I didn’t buy anything, but i will when I go back. Good deli, and lots of wines. Reasonably priced, not that great of a beer selection, but not too bad. Much cheaper than Acland, and they did have a decent belgian selction, but nothing amazing, worth a look. |
60 Mostly a wine shop. The selection of Eurepean beers is OK but for Australians the Bottle Shop a little down Lygon St. as good
Nice cheese and meat selection |
84 I took long trips to Cloudwine and Purvis before I realized this was right down the street from me. The deli is great and the beer selection is better than cloudwine, and a little worse purvis. |
52 A local for me, stocking a solid selection of non-rare beers from UK, Belgium and NZ... as well as some mixed quality micros from oz. Also has beers from many other countries but it’s all swill. The place is really there for wine and deli food , with the latter being of excellent value and quality.
The other thing is the fridge section, where you can usually pick up cheap, good quality cold beer when in need. |
64 Not the greatest shop for beer, but certainly deserving of a mention here. Stocks a lot of Belgians (though far too many from Huyghe) which is good, and they occasionally get local stuff nobody else seems to have (Marinda Park cider for instance). The deli is great and they have a LOT of wine. Good touristy type joint. |
