Small shops at Sth Melbourne, Queen Vic and Prahran Markets. (If you are a tourist, get a bratwurst at the place behind it at the Queen Vic.) It used to be that Swords were all about refillable bottles of plonk seemingly consumed exclusively by Fitzrovian social studies teachers but now half the places are beer and cider. Not a huge range but it’s skewed towards Australian micros and they often seem to have things released that week and occasionally have things that I’ve never seen elsewhere. | Jade (2), , Australia

Swords is a great little place within the South Melbourne Market to grab a unique beer. It is small (this is a market stall remember) so the selection is limited. Staff and owner here are great, always eager to have a chat and offer an opinion on the different beers available. Worth a look if you’re in the market - which you should be because the fresh produce is great! |
