8 reviews for AJ’s Fine Foods
| yemenmocha (61), Glendale, Arizona | | September 20, 2009 This is middle of the road as far as AJ’s go. Not a lot of folks seem to go here because they have a few items that are sold out at most locations in the valley (special offerings from Deschutes, Full Sail, Alesmith, etc.)
Prices are typical for AJ’s - high.
service is typical.
Location is nice - immediately off the highway and it’s on the right. Huge upscale shopping centre.
If you’re out this way take the 5mins to get off the highway and see if there’s something leftover that’s hard to get. | | SuperDave70 (14), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona | | September 28, 2008 Upscale grocery with a good beer/wine/liquor selection. Much of the beer is standard micro fare, however on occasion you will find something great here. As a bonus, everything is in the cooler and everything is available by the bottle. | | kyzr (18), Belgrade, Montana | | March 22, 2008 Good selection of west coast and area beers. Also a nice selection of Belgium stuff. Staff was not around except for the wine dude who wasn’t much into helping me. Great place to grab a wrap to go and get some great beer. | | ajm (160), Los Angeles, California | | November 28, 2007 [ Updated August 14, 2008 ] While many countries are represented at the AJ’s beer wall, if you’re like me and are pretty US/Belgium-centric in your drinking, it’s really one of the last places to look in the city. That said, you may have to go anyway for a special dessert or special occasion meal ingredients, so why not hit the beer section? Personally, I think the liquor selection is what makes the AJ’s chain worth visiting. | shanman (2), Mesa, Arizona does not count - explanation | | June 25, 2007 Go check out the brews here. Wow! If they dont have it, just ask for it. Its probably in back waiting for a home on the shelf. These guys really have a great time here. Brews from around the globe.Make sure you chat it up with Fast Eddie and Shannon "Brew Master Flash" | 500Somewhere (1), Gilbert, Arizona does not count - explanation | | May 29, 2007 Top Notch gourmet salad bar. Very nice selections in every dept., including alcohol. The deli and bakery are also very top of the line. | | Bockyhorsey (52), Mesa, Arizona | | May 4, 2006 Upscale grocery store chain in Arizona. Clean and if traveling with family send the wife and kids to wonder around the store while you take your beer list to a large cooler of beer. When this place opened in January 05 the lady working the area wasn’t to friendly. Dogfish was just starting to make it to this area and I asked if they would start carring it she stated we can’t carry everything. Everything for beer from swill to local brews (bottles) and foreign beers. Can get a salad, hot meal, sushi, ot a nice cheesecake if you wish. So if in that area the ratebeer starter has a good quantity to choose from. Even like me 900 ratings can still find some beer I havn’t had. | turbo (5), Arizona does not count - explanation | | July 1, 2005 This is really more of an upper scale grocery store/ bistro with a sushi bar and a good selection of sake on hand. They have a huge selection of beer, but mostly your common, everyday microbrew variety. AJ’s has a fully equiped gourmet deli and soup bar. It’s a bit pricey, but is the place to go for that hard to find cheese, wine or specialty bread. They also offer catering and the best prime beef in all of Arizona.
