This place has a good selection, including a good wine & sake list. Service is very, very slow on weekends and the bar staff is hit or miss. The frosted glassware thing makes me feel like I’m at a sports bar, not good for every beer. Best for maybe before/after a dinner date or nightcap, when you want a nice beer but will probably not stay too long.

Dark, smokey lounge with a couple of couches and sports on the TV. they play different types of music on different nights of the week - see their myspace page. Big selection of bottles and a small but good selection of taps. Diego, the owner, is really nice and is really into beer. The only drawbacks for me were it was too smokey and a bit pricey ($7 Torpedo bottle, $9 Old Guardian draft). A cool place to hang out for a couple of beers, but not a place to go for a long session.

MUCHO expensive! Be prepared to lose your wallet. I ordered a stout, and the girl served it in a frosted pint glass, so I had to wait about twenty minutes for it to warm up. But a damn cool bar none-the-less. Very large selection of bottles. They had a nice collection of rare beers behind the bar, but don’t even bother asking, they don’t carry any to actually let you drink. And make sure to check out the picture hanging outside of the bathroom (hint: look for the birdie ;)

If you are looking for a laid back place with couches and comfortable chairs and almost 150 beers in the bottle and a dozen taps then this is the place for you. Service gets dicey when the place is busy, but the owner LOVES beer and is very knowledgeable. One downfall is it is a big expensive. Still a cool place.

My Favorite Beer Hangout. I work the night shift down the street and came for a beer tasting and instantly fell in love. I have since gotten all of my coworkers hooked and we often come during our work break and again when we get out at midnight. They have over a hundred items on the drink menu, approx. 70% beer, 25% wine, and 5% sake. They keep there glasses frozen and have an official glass for about half of the beers on the menu. The place is dark and perfectly willing to entertain your shenanigans until 5 in the morning. The owner, Diego, has had every beer in the menu and can recommend or describe them all along with either of the two sexy waitresses whom I have seen there. Prices leave a little to be desired, but that’s only because most of us know what some of these beers cost in a liquor store. But for this location I am willing to spend what they ask (plus Diego will let you sample whats on tap)

Quality spot, with some drafts and a large bottle selection. The vibe is laid back and apparently it doesn’t really get going til after midnight (it’s open til 5am, like a lot of place on South Beach). You can bring your own food as they don’t have a kitchen. Basically just a laid back hangout on the ground floor of a house. Music is not your usual South Beach fare, more chill, and so are the beers. Prices are as per the area. Nice spot.

A small white heritage house converted into a bar. Purple neon sign. Wood floors, wood furniture, and long curvaceous wood bar. Dark interior. Small outdoor porch has a few seats. Excellent music, eclectic. Lengthy beer list, doubtlessly the best on the Beach, includes seasonals. Expensive but saved by an all-day happy hour on Friday (until 10 PM, select brews only). No kitchen but ask first, and you can bring in something to eat. Owner appreciates beer. They are trying with the glassware and have a better selection than most but need some improvement in that area. Tripels and wit beers are served with a pint glass. Not automatically using frosted ones would help too. It’s very loungy. Too dark to see your beer or your notebook so not really that conducive to rating, unfortunately. But is a great place for conversation and meeting friends and already feels like a local institution even though it’s fresh.
