| esjaygee (204), Oak Creek, Wisconsin | | October 18, 2011 I went her awhile back with a restaurant.com coupon. Typical old school Milwaukee cream city brick building that very open but also a touch noisy. The food was passable and the beer selection was okay (I had Lakefront IPA) with a handful of craft taps and a few more bottles. Nothing particularly exciting about the venue but it’s okay for grabbing a sandwich and a beer. | | jbuzz (35), Milwaukee, Wisconsin | | April 27, 2011 [ Updated June 9, 2011 ] Great third wark local..great prices and service...MicroBrews:

Higly recomend this place...I went with my girl freind and we both loved the food. | | theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | February 22, 2011 I’m with BeerBelcher on this one, the name "The Wicked Hop" really set my expectations pretty high heading into this place. This is mostly just a slightly upscale corner neighborhood bar. Granted, I love the Third Ward, and Milwaukee corner bars in general are a great thing. If it had a different name, I probably could get into it more. Visited on a Sunday afternoon, there was a birthday party going on and the bar area was pretty raucous. We sat up in the loft, and had a great view down to the bar area for the festivities. Service was a touch slow, but friendly. Beer list was solid, though by no means memorable - food was good, I had the chili, and it was fine. | | sunnyridge (28), | | May 2, 2010 A decent list, you should be able to find something in the way of a good import or a nice American craft ale or pale ale- not where I would go if I were looking for a big stout though. Awesome brunch burrito if you go on the weekend. | | Ughsmash (138), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | January 8, 2008 I’ve been here a few times, and agree with Chuck.. it’s a fun place to hang out. The food is good, and the service is usually on the better end. They don’t usually have rare beers on tap, but they always have solid stuff... there was also the one time I found Leinies Big Eddy IIPA there! I’ve only been there during quieter hours. | | MIBRomeo (125), Wisconsin | | October 16, 2007 Fun little bar, a touch on the small side so weekends and events get very overcrowded. Small number of taps but w/ some quality and decent food. | | BeerBelcher (134), Columbus, Ohio | | July 27, 2007 The name sets this place up for disappointment. While this place is immensely popular for some reason, it is far from being a good beer spot. There are some more expensive beers here, but nothing anyone on this site would be very excited about. "Oooh, Oberon on tap - I’m coming here everyday!" If this wouldn’t be your reaction, you could probably pass on this place and not miss much.
There are a handful of taps, and while they don’t have Bud Light on tap, they also don’t have anything good or rare enough to get all excited about. The bottle list was larger but my reaction to it was much the same as it was to their tap list.
The food here is decent for lunch (burgers and sandwiches), but it is a bit overpriced for what you get. Going here with friends and co-workers beats going to Chile’s (from a beer and social perspective), but I’m still not calling it a beer destination. | | Flyer (50), Hartland, Wisconsin | | June 19, 2007 This place frustrates me. Every time I think they’re on the verge of becoming a decent beer bar, they backslide. The atmosphere is great, a loft-like space, lots of brick and exposed beams, bordering on pretentiously unpretentious, but I like it. (The Kobe beef hamburger is reason alone to come -- it’s incredible.) But the beer selection screams "craft beer bar wannabe" -- generally mediocre pale ales, a few passable lighter Belgian styles, and of course they had some of the limited but amazing run by Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Imperial IPA. The only really above average beer they have on an on-going basis is Founder’s Dirty Bastard. None of the waitstaff is particularly knowledgable. I really want to like this place, and I keep hoping, but ... we’ll see. | | kmeves (100), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin | | June 13, 2007 Not a brewpub. Its a bar/restaurant with minimal taps and dome decent micros. The food is generally very good and the service is great. Just don’t go here looking for the rarities. |
