| ElGaucho (183), Minnetonka, Minnesota | | February 18, 2012 Located in the heart of Minneapolis’ "sports district", it’s a good place to get a good beer before Twins or T-Wolves games. I’ve spent time both upstairs and in their downstairs club area. I call it club area because after hours on Fridays and Saturday’s it becomes a night club. Beer selection is so so but they’ll always have a few gems on tap like arrogant bastard, the latest Deschutes limited release seasonal or something local and/or obscure like Lucid Air. Happy hour specials can be pretty awesome. A large group of us enjoyed $3.50 taps oa recent Saturday afternoon. My food experience has been very good; was there for a company party that 508 catered and the food was outstanding. On another occasion had a yummy sandwich though can’t recall if it was the Reuben or the pulled pork. Outside of MacKenzie, 508 is the best place to grab a better brew on game days. | | BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | October 7, 2011 Good beer spot downtown Minneapolis - rivals 8th St. Grill for best beer bar right in downtown Mpls (not including West Bank of U of M). 24 taps, including Surly, Fulton, Left Hand, Bells, Leine’s, New Belgium, Summit, others. | | ryanfolty (104), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | October 7, 2011 All things considered with this being a Badger bar in the Twin Cities, they had 24 on tap including Surly. Great happy hour special at $3 a pint for anything on tap. Didn’t get to see it but there was a dance floor downstairs...I had to get out of there before the Brewers game started :-) |
