Fun enough spot - Irish bar in downtown Minneapolis. Just your basic few varieties of Irish or Irish-style beers. They probably do better on whiskey than beer.

Great location across the street from Target Field, but not a ton of good beers. Better than the beers at the park so might as well hang out there as long as possible before the game starts.

Having just arrived in Minneapolis to 90+ fahrenheit temperatures and finding an initial stroll around the downtown dstrict to be a very thirsty business, when this place hove into view it was hard to resist. I knew it had Finnegans Irish Amber, which I might struggle find elsewhere, so that was good enough for me. As far as other beers go there were Summit Extra Pale Ale and a couple of Leinenkugels, which were new for me, but no doubt pretty commonplace for locals. Didn’t really take much notice of the "Irish" selection but I’m pretty sure it was just the usual macro suspects. We sat on the terrace outside, which seemed to be pretty popular with the after work office crowd, and didn’t actually set foot inside the place, so can’t really comment comprehensively on the decor or ambience. However, the terrace was a pleasant place to sit and watch the world go by. Considering the joint was really busy, service was swift and attentive. Didn’t eat. Not worth a special visit, but downtown Minneapolis isn’t exactly overloaded wth beery options and you are bound to come across this place in your wanderings so its a better pitstop than many of the alternatives.

One of the more authentic Irish pubs in the metro area. The beer selection is minimal; with the standards to find on tap and in pints (e.g., Black and Tan, Smithwicks, Guinness, Harp, etc). They also carry crappy beer like Budweiser, Miller, and other wastes of resources. Finnigan’s is their moniker. It is an ale made from potatoes. It is very malty smooth with a mild hop bitterness. These go down easy, too easy. Intermingle shots of Irish Whiskey and you have trouble. Mix with Irish Whiskey and you have a car bomb. Although not authentic Irish cooking, the food comes close to what might be found in Irish restaurants. Large, reasonably priced dishes and abundant on the menu. The atmosphere is very "pub-like." The staff are courteous and friendly. Live Irish music is frequently played. There are also other "Irish" events which make for fun evenings. I tend to visit Kieran’s about once a week and each time I leave satisfied.

Not really a ratebeer-worthy place, but it is good enough on its own. Strongbow; Guinness; Harp; Bass. Nothing exciting. Good atmosphere as an upscale bar. Food was OK, and service was good. I would recommend this place for a drink or dinner but not for beer; I don’t think it should be in the database.

For Beer Selection it’s lacking, but it’s a very nice modern Irish Pub.. Live music and Irish Theater every week...Service is very good..

2/18/12: I loved the old location for its weathered charm. The new location of course isnt weathered yet but Mr. folliard sure knows how to infuse ambiance into his establishments. The new place is much bigger but still manages to capture the authentic feel of an Irish Pub, complete with nooks and crannies. The place replaced Bellanotte restaurant a couple of years ago, a very high end, excellent restaurant that was a victim of the recession. Their loss was Kieran’s , and it’s patrons, gain. Beer selection is still fairly dismal as the Irish still can’t make a beer to save their life, but you can find something decent in bottle and occasionally on tap. Recent news says Kieran sold his interest to concentrate on his 3 Gingers Whiskey label, and that his spat with Jameson may mean you cant get the latter here. 3 Gingers is a more than adequate substitute. Come here for the ambiance. For a good beer before a game go instead to MacKenzie or Bar 508. 1/14/04 (old location since closed): As a beer place Kieran’s leaves something to be desired. Typically they have one or two obscure Irish labels (I had a Molings last time there), but since Irish beer is hit or miss to begin with, that might not mean a whole lot. The ambiance is outstanding. It really has a nice old world feel to it. If you like cool bars, check it out. If you’re just looking for good beer, Town Hall brewery is 2-3 miles over. Amb 5, Ser 9, Sel 5, Fo 7, Val NA, Ov 14

Not much for the true beer geek. Only a few unusual beers, mostly macro. The suroundings are fantastic. If you just want to be in an Irish pub, this is great. Might I recommend St. Patrick's day here: three bands!
