Went with the wife on a crowded weekend night. Waited 45 minutes standing and drinking beer. They often do tap take overs here. Surly

Another solid place in the "beer strip" on Lyndale. Good selection, nice atmosphere, good selection.

Good beer bar with lots of quality taps, and food was quite good too. Loud and packed. I guess it’s a great go to option for the locals. I would like to come back here.

Went here twice while in MN. First time was direct from the airport on a Friday afternoon. Arrived around 2pm on a Friday and sat at a fairly empty bar with the owner serving us. Very nice host and bartender who let us sample a number of beers. The food was good but not outstanding in relation to the prices. I can’t really say how well the beer was priced since it seemed good to me in regards to Southern California prices. Had brunch here on my last day in the city and loved it. Seemed an even better deal. It was packed though we didn’t have a tough time getting a table.

Very high prices, even during happy hour. Service was friendly and even gave me a taste of a new beer without asking. The bar is cramped, you will get to know the person next to you. My other complaint is that the place is a mess, as in cluttered. Not unclean, but disorganized as if they are trying to fit too much into a small place. So while from the outside it appears to be a dimly lit bar for a place to take a date, inside is a little different. The pizza was very good, wood-fire or coal, I think. Complaints aside, Muddy Waters, along with The Bulldog, has the most interesting tap selection in uptown.

Stopped on a Tuesday evening, walked in couldnt decide if i should seat myself or not, elected for a seat watching Lyndale ave, took a while for a server to appear, she offered me the tap list and off we went, Once ordering everything was fast, crowd was minimal but a good mix of hipsters drinking PBR, Punk fans dressed in all black leather and younger crowd dressed just like me. Food was good but a tad pricey as are the drinks, no samplers to be had here. Once I got a server everything moved swiftly and she was happy to talk about beer even giving her take on some surly stuff on tap. all in all a cool place, just hard to come here with all the other options. samplers would make me come here again.

Quality place for a beer and dinner. Highly recommend the chorizo dog. Fantastic stuff. They have some great taps and get a lot of specialty tappings. its fun to go to and a good crowd of people there. It’s always been fairly busy when I go. Price is a big downside however. The beers are more expensive than most places that are comparable.

Nice new place located in the Lyn-Lake area of Uptown that is quickly becoming a beer-lovers’ destination area, with Bryant Lake Bowl, Herkimer, Bulldog and Lyndale Taphouse all within walking distance. What distinguishes Muddy Waters as a beer place is it’s large selection of high quality, and in some cases, hard-to-find, craft beers. You might find Surly Darkness on tap here or something yummy from Southern Tier. It also has a nice, albeit somewhat narrow, between-building patio during nicer weather. The one detraction is the prices. You’ll pay $7 for a snifter of their better beers on tap. If they can fix that, Muddy Waters will have few rivals among the upper echelon of Twin Cities craft beer spots.

Nice place, and a solid upgrade from the previous location. Wonderful beer selection of both tap and bottles. Highly recommended for beer as well as food. The upscale bar food includes really unique takes on classic dishes and sammys. Only downside is the price. The beers are a tad overpriced by about a dollar a beer compared to most places. Still won’t bat an eye to not going here.

Great spot in Uptown. About 30 taps of good stuff and a nice local representation. Kind of a hippy urban coffee shop vibe but its cool.
