| ElGaucho (183), Minnetonka, Minnesota | | November 19, 2011 Outside of having one of the best beer selections in the west metro, Pairings distinguishes itself in two ways: 1) you get 10% off all wine and beer purchases with the Pairings discount card (and 15% off cases) and 2) you can bring your wine and beer purchases into the adjoining restaurant and not pay restaurant prices! Despite the great beer selection Pairings still needs to work on getting some of the truly unique, hard-to-find brews that Four Firkins and Blue Max do in order to be truly elite. | | BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | October 8, 2011 Terrific store. I stopped in to shop in the wine/beer market, but didn’t eat a meal on this trip, so I’ll have to go back to do that - apparently you can buy beers/wine from the shop then take it into the restaurant to consume with your meal, which is great. The beer store is very nice - hundreds of singles (some warm, some refrigerated). including some imports and a few oddballs. Most 12-oz singles are around 2 bucks, which isn’t bad. The day I was here it was 20% off everything, so I got a good deal. | | ryanfolty (104), Minneapolis, Minnesota | | October 5, 2011 Not a huge selection of beer as this place is primarily for wine; however they have a nice selection of singles. Prices were on the higher side compared to other places in town, but not outrageous. I will stop by again when I am in the area, but this is not a destination for those not close by. | | DalzAle (12), Eden Prairie, Minnesota | | May 31, 2011 [ Updated April 24, 2012 ] Food has to be the best attributes about Pairings. My wife and I have been here on multiple occasions and have always had spectacular meals (and generally @ about $10/person.) The store side is clearly more wine oriented, but has a respectable selection of all styles (including some sours hard to find in this area.) As time goes on, their selection has appeared to improve and they also seem to have some hard to find seasonals after other stores have long sold out. Not worth seeking out, but definitely worth hitting up if you’re in the area. **Downgrading my selection rating as of 4/24/12. Selection of new/interesting beer has dwindled recently to the point of looking, and leaving with nothing (twice.) ** | | kbutler1 (65), Minnesota | | January 21, 2011 Stopped in here with a friend on 1/21, although I have been here before I have never rated it. When you walk in you are greeted by a decently large wine selection and think to yourself "where’s the beer?" but then as you continue to the back you see it in all its glory. A large cooler format along with several rows of shelves with beers. Very cordial and friendly staff as I asked about a couple beers that I was looking for. Very helpful in letting me know if and when they might show up. Back to the beer, they have a great selection of regional and imported craft beers including a big belgian wall. What I really love is all the singles they sell. The one aspect I don’t like is that it seems their prices are a little higher than stores in the city.
| | undsioux7 (12), Eden Prairie, Minnesota | | July 27, 2010 This place has a nice atmosphere with more wine then beer, but the beer selection isn’t too shabby. They have over 500 types of beer. Nothing rare that I saw but there is enough that I haven’t tried to go back quite a bit. You can get most everything in singles which is great, but need to ask if a six pack of mixed singles is discounted. Will update when I find out. Prices are decent, but again need to check that out more. |
