Large, noizy, arrogant, bad service, poor beer. Complete tourist trap.Worst service ive ever had. I chose not to give the waitor tips and he looked at me and laughed. The beers from Augustiner is avalaible all over Germany. Donít drink them here.

Augustiner have chosen a huge corner plot for their Berlin outlet with Paulaner (Maximilians) and Lowenbrau both located close by for those that want a Bavarian Berlin beer hall crawl.
Iíve been in here three times now and although a bit expensive it is pleasantly done out and had a lot of money spent on it. My last visit was with a large party and weíd booked a table, we were escorted through to a back room via the kitchen: this smaller room was lovely, kitted out like a Bavarian Hut and the food fantastic, my Haxe done beautifully.
The beers have always been in good order and the service fine: what more do you need? Yes it is touristy, but tastefully done.

We mainly used the patio but got a good impression of the interior and mood indoors. I liked the place with itís prompt service, uniformed staff and Bavarian cuisine and decor.

Nice place to sit down and take in some bavarian culture (in berlin). In and outdoor seating, selection is obviously Augustiner.

Another deceivingly large place with a good location. Another deceivingly large place with a good location. Smooth scrubbed wood, overturned barrel-tables, and, at least partially, traditional clothing. Way too expensive for me to want to return. Has more of a Bavarian Urban chic vibe than a more traditional Munich beer hall (which the nearby LŲwenbršu better approximates), though the tourist swarm still pervades.

A big Bavarian beer hall with nice interior. Itís both busy and noisy which is understandable given itís location and size. The selction consists of five taps (counting the radler) and four bottles of Augustiner beer. Compared to other locations in Germany itís a bit expensive with prices of 3,5-4 euro for half a liter. Iíve been here before and would consider coming back if I was close by, but itís not something to travel too much for.

Went here with my girlfriend to enjoy a good meal and some good beer. A bit touristy; right on the corner of Gendarmenmarkt a block from Friedrichstrasse, but neither the food nor beer suffered. Good authentic Bavarian food, and solid Augustiner on tap. Worth stopping in if youíre in the area, especially considering Berlinís dearth of beer destinations given its size.

Enormous room straight behind Gendarmenmarkt. Typical Bavarian furnishing style it is a pleasant surprise in the heart of Berlin. Not particularly broad beers choise (exclusively Augustiner beers). Kindly staff, dressed with the typical Bavaria habit, but too much slow service. Worth oneís while a visit just only for the location and in order to taste a touch of Bavaria in the center of Berlin.

My heavens! Augustiner dates itself back to 1328, and is generally acknowledge as Munichís #1 of the Big 6 Beers. Itís sensational, and its Edelstoff alone is worth a trans-Atlantic flight for me. But here I am in Germany, and the Augustiner folks have recently opened a branch office up north in Berlin. How will the home of northern German Pilsener cope with the cream of Munichís Helles? Very, very well, I am happy to report. My Mass of Hell was glorious in concert with a Berliner Currywurst and Pommes (french fries). The Gendarmenmarkt location is a brilliant piece of marketing for the most insular of Munich brews. The restaurant has a nice woody comfy interior, itís just off the historic Friedrichstr., and is a great addition to Berlinís beer scene. The Helles was as I remembered it from the Augustiner Keller in Munich, and as for the Edelstoff - the yummiest of the yummy - well, the residents of Germanyís capital are fortunate indeed to have this Bavarian gem exported north to them. Prices as of July 2010: Hell (pale lager) for 0.5 liter, 3.10 Euros or 6.20 for a 1.0 liter Mass. The Edelstoff was 3.60 and 7.20 respectively. Also on offer was a Dunkel, the usual radlers, and plenty of non-alcoholic choices as well as wines and spirits. Very Highly Recommended. UPDATE FROM JULY 2011: Prices are up a bit - the Hell is still a joy at 6.80 and the Edelstoff is a gulp of Paradise at 7.80 per Mass. I bet the waitresses here hate dressing up as Bavarian Maidens, but honestly itís the Augustiner that I want to gaze at!

This place happened to be pretty much right next to my hotel on the Gendarmenmarkt, so we stopped in for a beer when we had a half hour to kill. Nice interior, lots of wooden barrels, old school beer haus feel, and the servers were dressed as beer maids which was rather nice on the eyes. Short beer list consisting of Augustiner beers. The food looked and smelled great, but there simply wasnít enough time for food. Maybe next time. I wouldnít go out of my way for this place, but it was convenient
