Deceivingly large place, looks like a lot of fun for a group, typical Bavarian beer hall kitsch. Had a good lunch deal, fresh and filling. Drinks are somewhat expensive for Germany, yes, but not as expensive as that goddamn Augustiner a couple of blocks away. Is the lion poking the bear? It’s possible to visit chain offerings from Löwenbräu, Augustiner, and Paulaner (x2) in Berlin.

Used to be a regular stop for food after work, buts seems to have changed ownership in the last year which has had a big impact on the service. Good solid German food, basic beer list, value isnt bad. Ok if you want a bite to eat in the area, not worth seeking out

Typical bavarian pub near Gendarmenmark, much similar to the Augustinerbrau near tenere in the same place. Ordinary beers list with somme Lowenbrau ( each type not much easy to find in other place). Palesant ambient, word everywhere, kindly staff dressed in bavarian clothes. Discreet food menù, good combinazione with the beers served.

Came here in late December 2011. Very attractive place, a big hall with lots of wood and whatnot. Tons of tables. Beer list very uninspiring. Three Lowenbrau offerings and a few other common beers. Decent food menu with a reasonable daily special. We had sausage with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. Solid, hearty food. Not cheap, but not too pricey, either. Not a ’must-visit’ place by any stretch, but it’s near Checkpoint Charlie if you’re in that area and want a nice place for a meal and beer.

Bavarian beer hall close to one of Europe’s prettiest squares. It’s a Bavarian beer hall in the eastern part of Berlin, but nothing more. Service was okay and the interior is nice. Worth a pit stop if you are in the neighbourhood.

Typical Bavarian but a nice surprise in the heart of Berlin. Beer from Löwenbräu and Franziskaner.
