rawalli (8), , Germany does not count - explanation | | May 23, 2012 One year ago, the brewery moved from their brew-pub over to the markethall. No ambiance any more. Shuts down at 6 p.m. - Oh boy, how I miss the good old pub... | mzaar (9), Varberg, Sweden does not count - explanation | | May 7, 2012 A nice little brewpub in the "Markthalle" at Arminiusstr. Well worth going there, for a handcraft and a nice environment. You can buy some sausages, bread or somtehing else in the other stands, and then enjoy a (or some) beer(s) in this little brewpub. Very serviceminded staff. | | MonMadsen (65), , Denmark | | April 27, 2012 Visited april 18th 2012: IPA and Oaty Stout on tap at the visit. Brilliant place if you’re hungry, as the brewery is located inside a covered market with lots of foodstalls. Tables to sit at,and where you can bring the food bought at the stalls. Worth a trip. | | gunnar (178), Sandnes, Norway | | April 9, 2012 Had to go here for a rerate of their pils, tasted from bottle last year, and it was way off target. Happy to say it was a lot better fresh from tap. In a corner inside an old market hall, small seating area, wonderful place to rest the legs. Chatty bartender as well, good service with a good selection of bottles to go. | | lethe (10), New York | | March 9, 2012 Odd setup as other have pointed out. Basically a stand in a large market hall that contains mainly food stands and grocers. Service has always been friendly and I have enjoyed coming for a beer and relaxing. The main drawback is selection: they have two taps listed, but three out of the last four times I have been there they have only had one beer on. You can still buy bottles. The beers, however, always taste very good on tap and any of their bottling issues are not present with the tap beer. Worth visiting if you are able to see a ranger of places in Berlin and want to see a place trying a range of beers. | | Leighton (226), London, England | | March 4, 2012 Nifty place - a stand inside a large marketplace. I initially thought this place was closed because the Brewbaker entrance on the street was closed. Thankfully, I found it. Their kit was inside with two superb beers on tap (unfortunately they were sold out of bottles). Excellent quality. Good prices. A must visit. Near the U, so pretty convenient to get here. For my money, probably the best beer getting produced in Berlin. | | edpeg (30), Berlin, Germany | | February 20, 2012 Brewbaker’s new location is basically an old market hall. The brewpub section consists of some tables and a bar with two taps with fermentation etc. kettle in the middle. The atmosphere is more of outdoor market so not really suited for a session beer drinking. You can buy some Brewbaker beers to go. Service is nice and if you are hungry you can grab a hamburger from a nearby Burger point. (not part of Brewbaker). | | EithCubes (158), , Germany | | December 21, 2011 Very strange new location, very open and a little random, memorably unusual but definitely not a place I’d like to stay more than a pint or two. I suppose one could pick up some groceries, though. Anyway, the beers are well worth seeking out, and are probably the most commendably adventurous of all of Berlin-Brandenburg. Service has always been extremely friendly and I see multiple return trips in my future. There’s some definite brewing skill here; if this operation were nestled in one of the trendy districts or near a major tourist site, I’d like to think it would be known in many corners of the world. | | ogivlado (242), Zagreb, Croatia | | November 1, 2011 What to say about this small brewpub within market hall. Not much, go here just for beers and search for fun somewhere else. 6 interesting beers at the time. About ten people and two tanks. The atmosphere…don’t bother with that. | | DuffMan (185), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | October 25, 2011 Wondered here through the Tiergarten from the Victory tower. Located in an unassuming markethalle , kind of an unbordered, open-air set-up. The owner was very welcoming, and encouraged us to round up a nice charcouterie lunch from around the market and then proceeded to bring us beer after beer, and some fine artisanal schnapps as well. Really great beer, great setting, very hospitable proprietor. One of our favourite stops. |
