VincentL (6), montréal, Quebec does not count - explanation | | December 19, 2011 Super service! Grâce à Bieropholie j’ai pu me procurer des lambics! J’adore. | | bedainedebiere (34), Terrebonne, Quebec | | April 25, 2011 Wow! I have the honor of being the first to write about this high class beer importation service on this site! Importations Privées Bièropholie is a participative membership association that allows its members to order mostly European and a few American beer cases that are not on sale in Québec Government’s stores (SAQ) or in local beer stores. Orders are made through the website, which is funny and helpful enough to deserve a decent rating for the "ambiance".
Even if getting your order shipped to your nearest SAQ Sélection can take up to four months, and that only full cases of the same product can be bought, the devotion of some people behind this organisation, especially the administrator Hughes "Yowie" Gauthier, is very appreciated by many beer afficionados from Québec; since he’s not getting paid for this job, there is no way I’m gonna complain about any aspect of the service!
The choice of beer is quite amazing but the prices range between affordable and quite excessive as you can sometimes have access to very rare brews, amazing grand crus, or maybe overpriced-because-imported beers. Overall, I’d say it is a truly great "beer store"; I drank so many great beers that came from Bièropholie! And so many less than other people... |
