| wnelsonfl (10), Florida | | January 13, 2012 Very friendly, great beer selection and even greater wine selection. Best Beer tasting I’ve every attended. Tasting held every second Saturday 6-8PM. | | DragonStout (96), Pickerington, Ohio | | September 17, 2008 I heard about this place a while ago and I have finally visited it.This was interesting you can buy your beer or wine here and drink it here also. The selection was average, they had everything that I could get in Orlando. No one said hi to us when were there or offered any assistance. Its nice to stop in if you are visiting Mt Dora but not worth the drive. | | BeerVirgin72 (94), Pickerington, Ohio | | September 3, 2008 Visited here while on vacation. For where it is, it is definitely a nice place to buy some craft beer. Quaint store in a quaint little town, but really, the wine selection far outweighed the beer...So stop in if you have no where else to buy beer, but otherwise, there are certainly better choices out there. | | changeup45 (78), Mount Dora, Florida | | August 9, 2008 [ Updated January 10, 2011 ] Re-Rate: Fun place. Cool vibe. Located in the heart of Mt Dora. It’s listed here as a beer store but doubles as a bar, and I’d probably treat it more as a bar. The prices certainly are bar prices. I wish the’d price bottles reasonably and then charge a buck or two per bottle as an opening charge if you wanted to drink on site. I just can’t justify buying a six pack that normally costs $8-$12 elsewhere for $20-$24. Original comments: Interesting place and concept in a neat little touristy town. Essentially two shops, one is a craft and gift type shop and in The Cellar there’s a wine and beer specialty shop. All beer is sold as singles. Pretty nice selection too, nothing you can’t get in Orlando, but solid for the area. Around 200 bottles. Prices are high but that’s probably standard for the town. The interesting part is it’s a beer store/bar... they sell it to go or you can have a cold one there. Relatively small but it’s a nice break from the norm. | irishpenguin13 (4), Lady Lake, Florida does not count - explanation | | January 9, 2008 i love this place! such nice people who work there, always greet me and my wife with the nicest attitude. always helpful and knowledgeable, and they always have a nice selection and something for everyone (wine and beer), from gift sets to microbrew sets, wine accessories, and furnishings. their selection rotates pretty frequent. they always have a good selection of seasonals for every season, and the prices are in the range of having a good time. the free roaming atmosphere gives this place more taste than any bar or pub you would visit in most other areas. from pat and dawn, we’ll see you guys soon!!! bring on the dogfish! wooooo! | | dchmela (96), Orlando, Florida | | January 8, 2008 Cute little beer and wine bar in a funky little town. Prices are much higher than normal, but you are in the middle of a tourist town. Jerome and his family are great people that run this place and it has a relaxed feel to it. | | smartlung (27), Valrico, Florida | | December 21, 2007 I must concur - a little pricey though decent ambience for a bottle shop. Decent singles but nothing out of the ordinary | JBro (1), mount dora, Florida does not count - explanation | | June 13, 2006 They have the best tastings in central florida. The were also vote 1# beer cellar by lake magazine. | | JMFG (18), Florida | | July 24, 2005 [ Updated January 27, 2007 ] A small wine store in a small "quaint" touristy town. They only have singles here, which is annoying. They have some 22 ouncers as well. The beer is OVERPRICED. I only go here because it is the only source for decent microbrew bottled beer near my house. And I’ve seen no evidence of beer knowledge, any of the times I’ve gone.
JBro’s rating smells fishy to me. |
