Basically a perpetual Oktoberfest that never stops. Including long tables, humps music and Leserhosen. Helles, Weizen and Dunkles as much as you can handle in 1l. glasses. Touristy, but still a must when in Munich.

Regular stopping point when visiting the in-laws. Can’t beat this place for its atmosphere. Yes, it can get a bit touristy, especially when the Weizen is on, but there is plenty of fun to be had, especially as a bi-lingual couple! The beer selection is as expected, the food is traditional, as is the band, brush up on your Bavarian drinking songs, and sing LOUD!

Massive. Imposing, lively and generally tremendous fun. If you love Hofbrau beer, which I do, then you’ll have fun here, despite the fact that it engenders all kind of mixed reactions - from historical revulsion, to over commercialised nose-turning-up.

Went here back in the day before I was really seeking out specific craft beers. Just getting acquainted to German Hefeweizen and falling in love with Franziskaner Weissbier. This place is touristy and there is typical schnitzel type of heavier German food along with bratwurst/weisswurst. All of the "macro" type lagers came in giant .75L mugs so good luck having more than 2. The Hofbrau house beers were on tap here, but since then they have a bottler and international distribution...so you can try most of their house beers without ever going here. The atmosphere is really the only draw- big beer hall with high ceilings and long wooden tables that seemingly every visitor has carved their name into. Easy to find near the Munich City Hall. Though I suspect there are better beers places, at the time this is the only place us kids knew about.

Tourist crowded, but worthy anyway. Great atmosphere. Unforgetable halls, long tables where o share experiences with locals and mostly foreigners. Nice "masses" on tap.

call it a touristy thing but it is a great place to go and a must see when visiting Munich. We had a fantastic time talking with the strangers we shared a table with. Not the kind of place for shy people as you will be seated next to others when it is busy. Food and beer is exactly what you expect if not predictable. Yes, there are plenty of tourists but go anyway.

My all tme favorite place to drink beer. The setting of these giant halls with incredible big glasses with the best Pilssener around. Experience it! Before you die see the hofbrauhaus.

This is a hugh beer hall, all three floors of it. The atmosphere is just what you would expect from a Bavarian bier halle, loud, crowded, and lots of beer, food and music.

Great to eat and drink in an ancient and massive place like this. Remarkably big. Wooden tables everywhere that can seat 10. Stamtische and krugs in a locker. Also visit the little museum upstairs. Awesome.

The biggest beer place i was. special, beer and Bavaria ambiance :) Live music from 12.00 :)
