| IPFreely (143), Sanborn, New York | | March 6, 2012 Very nice grocery store in a newer shopping development. Solid selection of local, regional, and imported craft beer that takes up most of the back corner of the store. Handful of taps for growler fills. This place supposedly has the best selection in Myrtle Beach and although I didn’t get to go anywhere else to compare, I could see that statement being true. It was definitely a worthwhile stop to stock up on some nice stuff to have at the condo for the weekend | | BeerSnobBob (11), North Carolina | | July 15, 2011 The best beer selection in a grocery store in Myrtle. | | bensbrews (10), North Carolina | | January 24, 2011 This is not the normal piggly wiggly most people know, I would compare it to a whole foods but better because they have taps for growler fills! There selection is great! They have some hard to find stuff, if you can’t find it there you probably won’t find it anywhere else near by. | gsteph (9), knoxville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | August 23, 2010 I would have never thought this was possible. This is the best place to buy craft brew in the Myrtle Beach area...hands down. The bottle selection is expansive.....Stone, Coronado, Avery, Ballast Point, Southern Tier, Allagash, Weyerbacher, The Bruery, Unibroue, and Flying Dog to name just a small few. Some Belgians and various other imports, and hard to find ciders. They have sixers and bombers of the good stuff. They also have a pretty good selection of custom glassware from some of the better known breweries. And of course they carry all the usual suspects...domestic pig swill. The growler station is pretty cool. I believe they have 4 taps. They probably have what you are looking for if you are in the area. | | VTHopHead (57), Barre, Vermont | | June 9, 2010 By far and away the best place to buy craft beer in the Greater Myrtle Beach area. Comparatively (to other local stores) an excellent selection of craft.beer. Prices were a bit lower than other stores as well. Don’t miss it! | wehttam (2), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | March 22, 2010 Myrtle Beach and apparently South Carolina in general appears to be where beer goes to die. However, the Piggly Wiggly at The Market Common delivers a bit of home (Northeast) when it comes to craft beer. Four craft taps available for growlers is the highlight, the most expensive being Victory Hop Devil at $10/growler on my most recent visit. Decent selection of bombers, found some interesting hoppy options such as Hoppin’ Frog and some hard to find Southern Tier brews, with the prices being a little more to significantly more reasonable than the other craft beer distributor (Greens Discount Beer). Sixers appear to be a bit pricey (Two Hearted at $13.99/sixer). Decent selection of German and Belgian brews in both bombers and sixers. I will admit that I am a hop head and the biggest disappointment was the lack of diversity in brands. I found some of my favorites but would love to see some expansion. Definitely a place to hit if you are anywhere close and craving real beer no matter what the style. |
