| BVery (227), Burnsville, Minnesota | | May 13, 2012 Nice brewpub vibe inside. I sat on the patio overlooking the river. Flight of 12 or 13 brews for ten bucks. Great spot. | calpyro (4), does not count - explanation | | January 2, 2012 Good food. Needs a little bigger menu.
Beer is top notch. Something for every palate. | | JohnC (137), Mission Viejo, California | | August 22, 2011 I guess I’m against the grain here: my wife and I really enjoyed this place.
We sat outside on the patio with a nice view of the Napa river which made dinner even more enjoyable.
We split a sampler of their nine house brews, plus the bartender added a tenth, FW Union Jack. The house brews were decent. They also had six Russian River brews on tap.
The food was very good. I had cioppino and there was plenty of shellfish. My wife’s French dip was quite good.
The service was friendly and prompt.
I’d recommend it as a place to go in Napa. | | nicksixsix (20), California | | July 28, 2011 Downtown Joes could be so much better. The beer selection is small, the best beers on draft are not their own. The crowd is mostly tourists, evenings fill up with locals making the crawl. The food is fine, tolerable pub grub, more affordable and lower key than anything else around. I just wish the place was really making an effort! If its ever for sale, im interested! | | b79turner (24), Alabama | | June 4, 2011 Kudos to Downtown Joe’s for offering Russian River, Firestone Walker, and a few other great beer selections. They also have an onsite brewery, I didn’t try any of those, but this is a nice place in Napa to have a beer break from all the wine. | | Sledutah (151), Utah | | October 8, 2010 Nice Old English style bar. The service in the bar area was bad. We were there on a Wed night and sitting at a table in the bar. The hostess (very nice girl) came and gave us menus and told us a server would come by to take our orders. Got tired of waiting so we ordered our beers and food from the bar, we never had anybody come to the table to get our orders the whole night. The food and beer was good though. We had a Reuben sandwich and pizza.
Overall it was a great place to stop if your in the area. Glad I was finally able to visit. | | bhensonb (375), Woodland, California | | February 14, 2010 Bout time a Californian rated this place. 1. The logo with the dog and the girl is much better than the one shown on this page. 2. It’s a bit more restaurant than brewpub. Area is getting gentrified. Hog Island Oyster Bar (good!) is only about 4 blocks away.Good service. Good and varied food selection. Only had 2 house beers on, as they are doing brewery renovations. Waitress said there are usually 10 taps, and that should be the case in 2 or 3 months. Nice river view available "upstairs". Beer better than expected. Got flavor. | HIBEERMAN (8), Rhinecliff, New York does not count - explanation | | January 12, 2009 Napa of all places. the service was shaky the selection wasnt great. They were brewing the day I went so the it was an off day. I suspect if i returned a day or two later the beer selection would have rated a 9 or 10 | | GeneralGao (222), Iowa City, Iowa | | August 31, 2007 Visited on a weekday afternoon, so the place was essentially empty. The owner stopped by and chatted with us about where we were from and which beers we liked best. Nice guy. Service was great. Food was pretty good. The beers were hit or miss. I liked the Double Secret IPA the best. Definitely worth a visit. | | roder60 (38), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | June 25, 2007 [ Updated August 16, 2008 ] Located in downtown napa, this is the best place in town for beer fans stranded in wine country. Nice atmosphere and good food, you can get a sampler of all of their beers on tap for like 8$. This is literally your only decent beer option and its real easy to find with free parking accross the street. Try the fajita salad. |
