| beernovice39 (146), South Carolina | | April 1, 2012 Dropped in for a pint and samples. Great service. Will try the food next time. | | IndyBeerSnob (13), Nashville, Tennessee | | January 30, 2012 Great place for a few selections of homemade beers. They aren’t the most amazing beers in the world but they take pride in their brewing and I love their location. Right in the middle of downtown HIllsboro Village. Perfect. Two TV’s in the bar, could use more.. but Go to Sam’s next door if you want to smoke and watch the game. Stick to Boscos for a great Ambiance and great beer and amazing food | | badlizard (109), San Diego, California | | December 18, 2011 Cool ambiance with a good vibe when busy. I wasn’t especially impressed with their beers: about 7 or 8 fairly bland, appeal-to-the-masses sort of brews comprising the bulk of their selection. The food and service was average. | | LilBeerDoctor (185), East Setauket, New York | | December 10, 2011 A cool brewpub near the Vanderbilt campus. I was here for a big gathering and had a great time. They had 4 regulars and 4 seasonals on tap when I was there. The pale ale was good and the baltic porter was quite good, so I don’t think the beer is as bad as the ratings seem to indicate. As far as food, I got a chicken bbq pizza which was very tasty. Overall, a chill place, decent to good beer, and good food. I think it’s worth a stop. | | seymour (37), Saint Louis, Missouri | | November 9, 2011 Very cool spot in a very cool part of town, easily accessible from Vanderbilt, Belmont and some great artistic and residential areas. Good beers, some standards and some which are more creative than most predictable brew-pub styles. Excellent pizzas and salads. Occasional fun events. An all-around great hang. | | Boesky (35), Galesburg, Illinois | | October 17, 2011 Fun little brewpub near Vandy. Only serve their beers, which are decent, if not terribly adventurous. Food was good, as was service. | | b79turner (24), Alabama | | July 17, 2011 First time visit to Boscos in Nashville, TN. Very nice location, good food. Obviously only serving Boscos beer brewed on site. Worth stopping by for a few pints. | | Rustyham (84), Nashville, Tennessee | | January 4, 2011 The Beer wasn’t too bad, and a sampler of 8 for $8 is hard to come by. the menu looked great on paper, but the pizza I bought was tiny, thin and lacked any excitement. MY girlfriend’s veggie burger was a frozen gardenburger that they hardly cooked and put on a small bun with a piece of lettuce. there was more blank plate than food. I was severely disappointed with this place as a date ambiance, and only about 1/2 of their beers ended up scoring above 2.5 for me. | | drowland (116), Tallahassee, Florida | | December 28, 2010 Very nice place inside. Dimly lit, nicely dressed people, lots of wood, very clean... warming, nice atmosphere.
Our waiter was prompt, kind, and nicely chatty (not overbearing). His knowledge of the beers was average. He couldn’t remember all of the beers they had on tap and couldn’t talk much about them, except those he liked. He came across at first as knowing a lot, but then crashed pretty fast as I asked questions. He did tell me that the Winter Warmer "is an ale," and that "I love dark beers... if I could have one beer before I died, it’d be a Guinness," in reference to the Scottish-style brew I asked him about."
Selection was slim... their stuff and a few macros. I can’t complain though... it’s a brewpub... that’s the point, right?
Didn’t try the food, but it sounded good. Seemed expensive, though.
Getting a sampler is pretty cheap. You get 8 brews for 8 bucks. My wife’s pint, however, was $4.50 and was far from worth it.
Overall, stop by if you’re in town and want to hit up a chainy brewpub type place that probably has some decent food. | | KYBreakfast (11), Kentucky | | July 14, 2010 Great idea - too chainy. The food is pre-frozen. I had a frozen pizza I paid $9 for. The brew is decent but nothing spectacular. They have a decent ambiance and sometimes live music - Hillsboro is full of great local places so I’d rather go elsewhere for a beer/food and pay for quality.
Nothing special here. |
