| mermaidjuice (10), , | | May 15, 2012 Every couple of years I visit here while traveling. We have always had a above par visit here. Last time the Bartender was a beer enthusiast and when we asked where were the Dogfish Head brews his classic response will never be forgotten..."The day DFH pulled out of Tennessee I cried" | | allfreej (73), Louisville, Kentucky | | December 8, 2010 Ambiance was typical Mellow Mushroom pizzeria. That said, it’s a confortable place to go to eat and drink. The bar service is great. haven’t sat in the table area. The selection includes a couple of decent regional offerings from Yazoo, Sweetwater, and Highland Brewing. The pizza is really good, as are the sandwiches. The value is really great if you hit them during their 3pm-8pm Happy Hour. All drafts are 1/2 price, and were reasonably priced to begin with. I liked it. I’ve been several times and have never had an issue with off-flavored beer. While not extensive, they offer several highly rated brews. | | Rustyham (84), Nashville, Tennessee | | October 16, 2010 I have only been to one other Mellow Mushroom- the one in Murfreesboro, and that one was much better. This place is tiny, and the beer selection was more lame than the Murf. location. I order Yazoo Hop-project and it was obvious that the lines had not been cleaned. It tasted like, dust and Cardboard. The GF ordered JuJu Ginger, which was alright. the food aint so great either. Don’t bother with this place. | | NachlamSie (357), Tennessee | | September 13, 2010 Typical and approachable ambiance for the chain, though on the conservative side. There is a nice marble top bar and a good Nashville beer selection. Nice array of Yazoo with a Rye Squared, Highland porter, Sweetwater 420 etc. Not a standout beer destination for the city but meets the need for good beer if you’re in the immediate area. | | Butters (164), Richmond, Virginia | | December 28, 2008 Located near Vanderbilt and only a stones throw from boscos and belcourt theater. Of all the MMs Ive been to, this one doesnt rank very highly on the list. Parking is nearly non-existent. They do offer valet parking, but the attendant was nowhere to be found when I visited. The emphasis on *good beer* that is a staple of many locations, seems to be lacking here. Still a few respectable beer choices, but not quite as many local or micro brews. The young staff also didnt seem to know very much about beers. But the pizza is as good as the others. Definitely a hangout for the college kids who want to grab a slice and drink Fat Tire. |
