| deyholla (90), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | May 17, 2012 Located in an interesting building and has a bit of a maze feel to it. A nice selection of guest drafts as well as their own beers. The staff seemed nice and knowledgeable. The food was quite nice and I was impressed overall. | | beernovice39 (146), South Carolina | | April 7, 2012 Stopped by after Bank Street and tried all the brews I had not had yet. Great service and look forward to the pizza next time. | | shrubber85 (132), Greenville, Indiana | | February 16, 2012 Left side of the complex (Rich O’s is on the right). Really the same greatness as Rich O’s but you can see brewing equipment (same menu and beer selections). Not to be missed. | Eisbock (1), Louisville, Kentucky does not count - explanation | | September 17, 2011 My favorite place to be on a Friday night. Their own brews are fantastic, especially Hoptimus, their 10.7%abv/110ibu imperial IPA. Outside their own offerings they also feature a rotating board of around 20 guest drafts and an extensive and impressively varied bottle selection. The food is equally outstanding, including "upside down" pizzas and my favorite, cornmeal bottomed breadsticks with spicy beer cheese. Service can be a little slow when they’re busy, but I’m never in a hurry to get out of there so I normally don’t mind. Ambiance is great as well with wooden booths and plates, sports TVs, windows looking into the brewery, low lighting, and neat brewery signs and beer posters. Prices are fair for what you get. Great overall place to try a new brew and grab a slice. | LuthersLager (2), Michigan does not count - explanation | | April 2, 2010 I love this place. One side pizza sports bar, and the other side makes you feel like your an American spy infiltrating a popular bar of the former USSR (except this bar has beer and not vodka).
Food: Get the Big 10 "refrigerator" style. And don’t forget the bread sticks with beer cheese.
Selection: They brew many delicious beers of there own, great selection of other craft beers and imports on draft and an excellent bottle selection including meads. | irishpilot (1), Indiana does not count - explanation | | February 21, 2010 I love it... Do I really need to go elsewhere? | | alleycat (13), Indiana | | February 6, 2010 Great beers. Didn’t have chance to try food. Prices a little steep. | | lithy (156), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | December 22, 2009 Interesting stop, pizza joint with 12 house beers on tap from what looked like a relatively small brew house. Lots of guest taps as well including Schlenkerla Oak Smoke which was one of the main reasons I stopped in. It was also very convenient from I-65 when going through Louisville. House beers were alright with a few standouts. The deep dish pizza was not a Chicago deep dish but was a solid pizza nonetheless. House salad also good. Very good service. | jjking01 (8), does not count - explanation | | December 21, 2009 New Albanian has some great brews. The service can sometimes be so-so, but that is nothing that should keep anyone from checking out the wonderful selection they carry! | | Teege (12), Orlando, Florida | | September 15, 2009 I grew up a quarter mile away from this place, and though I’ve always loved their pizza (I still say it’s some of the best pizza I’ve ever had), I never realized I was living so close to one of the best brewpubs in the Midwest, possibly the nation until I moved away and came back to visit. Yes, the New Albanian Pizzeria is smoky and a little divey (not that I think there’s anything wrong with that). The next door New Albanian Public House (formerly Rich ’O’s) has a very cozy atmosphere, is smoke free, and has the same great pizza and beer selection as the pizzeria. Great selection of American craft beers and imports, but try their home brews. Hoptimus Prime is one of the best double IPA’s I’ve ever had and stands right up next to some the top rated double IPA’s in the world. Overall a great place. I always look forward to going there (and do so as often as I can) when I visit my hometown of New Albany, IN |
