| queenholly (13), South Whitley, Indiana | | February 17, 2012 I was here on a busy night when they had a tasting event going on. The service was adequate, the food was well done standard pub fare. The craft beer tap selection is the best available in this part of the state (I think they had 58 on tap this particular evening). | | Busko (10), Chicago, Illinois | | November 9, 2011 Great bar for Fort Wayne area. Their selection is pretty damn good, with a huge selection of dank beers on tap, somewhere in the 50s. Surprised to find some good sours here. This is a must stop for any beer fan since there really isn’t any other place with such a stellar selection in the area. | | Tmoney99 (332), Cincinnati, Ohio | | October 31, 2011 Easy to find corner location with street Parking. Quiet mid-afternoon visit with bar on right and another room on left with tables for food and beverages. Freindly bartender and she had good knowledge of beers and seemed to be bartender, cook and server and did all well. 58 taps and I had three new beers. Did not get to eat. Enjoyed the visit and this is the second time there. | | tkrjukoff (133), , Sweden | | May 4, 2011 From outside the place looks like any other small town bar with pool tables, regulars etc. BUt when you step in and see the taps lined up in the bar, I say WOW. Great staff and service, food was excellent. Had a such a tender steak. Samplers from their tap selection. What else could you ask ;-). Highly recommended. | | ESBob (13), Indiana | | February 18, 2011 Trion is a true treasure for the microbrew fan. Over 50 beers on tap now. Excellent Bells and 3 Floyds Selections. The Southern Tier Beers are a must try. This is a smaller bar in a small town, but the tastes are big city! Food is standard bar fare, but a few dishes stand out. Service is outstanding, bar keeps are knowledgealbe. If you are within a 90 minute drive, iit is a must location. | | jsquire (47), St. Marys, Ohio | | February 12, 2011 The draw for this place is the tap list. They have an insane amount of great beer on tap and they bring new beers in frequently. The food is good pub grub, but I haven’t eaten much of the menu. The staff is nice and will let you taste if you don’t know if you want to buy. This is a great stop if you find yourself stuck in the Ft. Wayne area. | jameswolfe (3), Fort Wayne, Indiana does not count - explanation | | December 26, 2010 You know this place has such an excellent selection and all on tap. 54 beers on tap including the best by FFF, Southern Tier, Great Divide, Mikkeller, Chimay and others. A lot of these beers you just can’t get anywhere. And to boot they have a nice option to buy a flight of 5 beers for 10 bucks. Great idea. I
I didnt have the food so I rated as average. The selection is typical bar fare though.
One thing that keeps this bar from being the highest rated bar for me is the smoking. Seriously how the fuck am are you supposed to taste and smell a beer in a cloud of smoke? You can’t. If it werent for this I would go back more often, but for now JKO is where I am going to go. | wickster (1), fort wayne, Indiana does not count - explanation | | August 21, 2010 I simply love this place! Having grown up in New Haven the Trion was always known as a basic bar...then things changed and it has become a craft brew drinkers wet dream! The 45 taps of amazing brews keep me coming back whenever I can. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
The food is far better than standard pub fair, so this is a worthwhile stop even if you’re not a beer geek (or are with a non beer geek.)
Do yourself a favor and stop in and have a pint or five! | TrueRates (3), does not count - explanation | | June 26, 2010 I had heard mixed emotions about this bar, but most were positive. Upon entrance into Trion, the first thing to notice is the bar. A gorgeous wooden floor piece surrounds a nice chunk of the bar with two sets of tap handles in front and back. Trion has 45 taps and most are of quality brews. The beer list sits a little too heavily on American micro’s. The only Belgian beer I recall is Chimay White. The beer list has all of their beers listed (which was not updated) without any of the prices. I ended up having a FFF Blackheart for $7 and an Avery Maharaja for $8. Each beer was about a 14 oz. pour. The decor was of updated beer signs which once again were of American micros. I’m almost wondering how they can turn over the beer fast enough to keep every draft line fresh. There was myself and two other people on a Wednesday at 5:00pm. One person was drinking a Coke and the other a BMC. I think this place has lots of potential but would benefit from lowering their prices a tad more to reel in more people from Ft. Wayne. I’d definately go back and hope next time it’s a smoking free establishment. | GCurlow (1), Carmel, Indiana does not count - explanation | | June 9, 2010 Great place! |
