I usually go in the afternoon but I love that it’s less crowded. A real old school bar with great bartenders with good personalities. Wide beer selection. Maybe not as good as Torst or Beer Table but all in all a no-nonsense no fancy pants bar-bar. Fantastic stuff on tap, like beers unavailable in bottle shops. Good customers (obviously :)). Big fan. Very laid back and relaxed old school venue.

Washington Commons is a solid bar located in the heart of Prospect Heights. Apparently this is the sister of Fourth Avenue Pub, a leading light in the local bar scene. The ambiance is nice, relaxed. The bar’s mostly wooden, with a large central bar. The draft selections were decent. Draft highlights included a berliner weiss and Alesmith Speedway. The bottle selections were OK, nothing crazy. Prices were good, service was friendly. Overall, quite nice. Recommended if you’re in the area.
