NaNach (2), , does not count - explanation | | July 28, 2011 Best prices your going to find anywhere in the nyc area. The craft brew section of this wharehouse is unbelivable. If you have any questions when you go ask for nathan he is really knowledgeable when it comes to brews and if they don’t have something in the store he will get it for you. I found this store pretty recently and it is a diamond in the rough. They have an insane selection of beers and really care about there coustomers. Because this is a discount bevarage store and they dont make there money from the fine brews they charge very little for them compared to any store ive seen. Check it out you wont be dissapointed. | | tgncc (49), Bellmore, New York | | July 11, 2011 This place is in a wierd part of Manhattan most people will never go to. The place is a disjoint warehouse setup, un-airconditioned, unkempt. the selection is ok, lots of DFH, some decent Stone, other, nothing rare. The real draw here is the value. I got a 4 pack of rasputin for $8 and change, the DHF Hellhound was $9.99, the Ovila was $8.99. Since value is very important to me lately, I’m giving this place relatively high marks overall. But to be honest, i didn’t see any beer there that was an actual steal. The aprking is atrocious. The service is virtually non-existent, and non-English speaking. Still, if you’re in the neighborhood, it’s worth stopping for a few bargains. | | italarican (29), Astoria , New York | | March 26, 2011 This is a massive warehouse that sells beverages of all kinds to bodegas and what not, but apparently their beer selection is really coming into its own. I was very surprised. A variety of domestic and imports (and since they are a supplier to a lot of restaurants, there are a lot of countries represented). You can buy by the case/pack or single for everything. Prices are the best I’ve seen in NY; dirt cheap. They are not at the top as far as the most elite of a selection, but there is some very good stuff; in fact, they were just putting Goose Island Nightstalker out on the shelf as I left. | lbarcelo (1), Ossining, New York does not count - explanation | | April 5, 2010 Not much on ambiance because it is a warehouse distributor. I’ve been going since the 1980s when my dad owned a bodega. Back then we took the hour plus drive because their prices were unbeatable. Flash forward 25 years and the same is true! Nowadays, instead of buying pallets of Presidente and Bud, I’m going there to buy bottles of Unibroue and Franziskaner. They have a great selection of beer and a staff that is fairly knowledgeable. If someone doesn’t have an answer to your questions, he or she can often find someone to help. I’ve recently been turned on to so many beers because their prices make it manageable. For example, a bottle of Aventinus sold for $3 and change. I even tried a bottle of Deus Belgian Beer which sold for a little less than $30. Give them a try and I promise that you will be satisfied!!! Just be prepared to fight for a parking spot ;-) |
